Welcome to The Golden Age of the New Republic. This is the all new OOC thread for this new game. The setting nearly a deacde after the defeat Admiral Daala, when the New Republic was flourishing. This game will explore many facets of the Star Wars universe, including diplomatic relations, the Jedi, devious Hutts, and much more. I will be accepting characters of all types, Jedi included. Characters should start at Level 3, using D20 rules and should include a back story, half a page to a page is adequate. Keep in mind that you are working for the New Republic either because you are apart of it or were hired.

The Back Story
A large corporation, by the name of Hazil Inc recently sold the New Republic computer programs for the Military, it was meant to be used as a database for Military units. Soon after the program was installed increasing attacks on New Republic forces began to occur. A New Republic Agent headed to Bothawui to meet with the head of the Corporation and was never heard from again. Not wanting to disturb the peace that had become prevalent in most area’s of the New Republic, Admiral Ackbar and Minister of State Leia Organa Solo decided to respond in an unconventional manner. They decided to form an investigation team to work at discovering the true nature of Hazil Inc and to find out if they are behind the new attacks.

As a note, I would like to have a slicer on the team so if anyone is interested in that role, PM me, for you will be allowed certain privileges in making your character. We will also need at least on capable soldier, tech, diplomat, and pilots never hurt. Feel free to propose any character concepts you have, I am open to anything.

Here are a set of guidelines that were created by Reliant and AxiustheDark the GM’s of the one and only GRaD!

1.Posting will be limited in the IC thread to once per day. This is to give every character a chance to interact with the story line, which will be much more linear and involved than others.
2.Please, for the sake of mutual enjoyment, do not post detailed actions for other peoples characters. Any short happenstance required to move the story line along will be permissible, but each player should consider what they are doing carefully before committing an action with another players character.
3.Major NPC's (created by the "GM") and minor NPCs (created by the players) are for everyone to use and control. As long as you keep the character believable, manipulating them is fine.
4.Try to post on a consistent basis. This rule is so that the story line does not completely stop. If you will be leaving or be away from the internet for an extended period of time, please try to remove your character from the action; or inform a "GM", who will take the time to keep your character around and safely in the background. (Due to the fact that some people cannot post as often on the weekends, this rule will be relaxed on Sat&Sun)
5.Nothing unbelievable is allowed. We will be playing a little closer to the view of reality than some threads, so please try not to do anything fantastical with your character. (Therefore if your character does not have disable device, it would probably be best if you didn't disarm the ticking time bomb.)
6.We will be assigning ranks to players as they come on board(If you ask for the right jobs, you might start off above somebody else). In game promotions will happen simultaneously with OOC level-ups. This will be a decision made by the "GM" based on quality of roleplay, solutions to problems, time played, and a player's effort to consistently stay involved.
7.Have fun. The primary job of this thread is so that a group of us can get together and have a good ol' time playing SWRPG. So, have fun.
8.Talk to me. Let me know what you guys are thinking. I welcome any comments and suggestions, and although I have a plot in store for all of us, any ideas will be seriously considered.
9.One other thing, please keep any OOC comments, no matter how small, out of the IC thread. The OOC thread is fair game for a decent amount of dementia, but the IC thread is for the RPG.

If you are interested in playing either PM me or email me at miked1382@hotmail.com.

Ok Ardent will be helping run this game and is an assistant GM. Without Further delay I present you with your leader…

Jedi Master Kali Moondancer

Kali like all of her race had a love of life since the day she was born. As a baby she was exceptionally happy and cooed at the sight of anyone. As she grew older this disposition did not change, the cooing stopped, but she was all around happy nonetheless. Her parents were Nobles of considerable wealth and lived in a beautiful mansion outside the capital. Many visitors came to her home and Kali took pleasure in meeting all of them, especially the young men that came.

When Kali was fourteen years old the most important and interesting visitor came to her home, a Jedi Knight. His name was Kam Solusar she discovered and when she met him her life changed forever. It was not long before the man asked Kali if she would like to train as a Jedi Knight. At first the idea seemed great, but then Kam spoke of dedication, hard work, and having to control ones emotions. To a Zeltron, this was a cold slap in the face, yet despite the obvious hardships she would face Kali decided to leave with Kam. When he arrived two days later with his ship a shocked look spread on his face as servant after servant brought chest and bag full clothes and other accessories for the young beauty. When Kali saw this look she smiled, “Jedi wear clothes don’t they? Who says they have to wear the same smelly robe all the time?” Kam laughed and wondered if this was a mistake.

Kali did exceptionally well at the Academy, but was certainly one of the strangest Jedi around. While most Jedi are thought to be emotionless and cold, Kali was quite the opposite. She was full of mirth and gaiety even during the hardest of training sessions. While many times her teachers feared her emotions would lead her to the Dark Side as the years went by it became evident Kali was one of the least likely to turn. Zeltron’s are chemically afflicted by those who are evil and Kali so full of joy never seemed once to let her emotions cloud her judgment.

Before long Kali was awarded the rank of Jedi Knight. At her ceremony she wore not the standard Jedi robe, but instead a diaphanous dress made of some exotic fabric that was the a little darker pink than her own skin, to match her lightsaber she said. She wore her long blonde hair down and her crystal blue eyes sparkled with tears of joy during the whole ceremony. Many of the male Jedi present had a hard time hiding their joy as well, for Kali like most Zeltrons was by human standards exceptionally beautiful/ For a several years she proved her worth and reliability to Luke and the other Jedi Master by accomplishing every task set before her. When she returned to the Academy she seemed to have matured greatly and had overcome some of her own Zeltronian habits. While still one of the most free spirited Jedi, she was also one of the most gifted. Luke was happy to bestow the rank of Jedi Master upon her. She wore her Jedi Robes to the occasion. Soon after the ceremony Luke toke Kali aside and told her off her new mission. Kali hurried off to Coruscant ready to prove that she was worthy of her new title.

As Moose mentioned I'll be your co-pilot on this flight. What does this mean? This means a lot of my posts will purposely intercede to, hopefully, help the group stay closer to the true objective. Don't mistake the fact that I am, very much, a player interested in testing the chaos theory, but I'm also making sure we don't run off willy-nilly and completely forget Moose's wonderful storyline.

Based on the work I've seen from Moose, and the little bit of this storyline I'm in on, we're in for an interesting ride. Anyhow, without further ado from moi...

Growing up on the affluent Core World of Brentaal, Gray was subject to the high-power world of mercantile nobility from the first moments of his life. Taught the ways of the family business growing up, Gray proved extremely adept at reading people. So much so that his father would often bring his son along to eye up potential clients.
Often, however, Gray would have disturbing visions and learn things about people who visited his father they probably never told their intimate relations. His father, however, was afraid the Inquisition would turn his son's way, and discouraged Gray sharing any information about his visions with anyone outside the family.
Doing as his father told him to, Gray did his best to ignore his visions and tried to live his life day-by-day. Gray was barely a young adult, only fourteen years old, when Master Skywalker established his praxeum on Yavin IV, to much fanfare, and only a couple years older still when Luke Skywalker came calling on the Errants.
Luke had explained to Baron Errant that he thought Gray had a latent talent to see through the Force. The Baron, however, was still an Emperor-fearing man, and declined to allow Gray to study with Skywalker at the praxeum. Gray was saddened, but accepted his fate when Master Skywalker showed him a few basics.
Years later, Gray gained his majority and took his leave of Brentaal and his father's business. He set off immediately for Yavin IV and the praxeum, eager to pick up his learning where Master Skywalker had left off.

Gray is a Human male of moderately tall height, with a very broad-shouldered build. Gray has suffered much in the years he's spent as a Jedi, and as a result began ritually tattooing his face in the tradition of a near-Human culture he encountered. Each line marks a "trail of sorrow" and the resulting patterns are "impressions of character." Gray does not regret his decision in the least, but his experiences have changed him in dramatic ways. His jet black hair frames eyes of a deep purple hue; the result of some experience Gray will not speak on. Gray is often mistaken for a near-Human himself, and does not discourage the idea.

Baron Gray Errant: Adult Male Human Jedi Consular 5/Jedi Investigator 1; Init (+1 Dex); Defense 17 (+1 Dex, +6 class); Spd 10m; VP/WP 42/13; Atk +3 BAB, +4 melee (2d8, lightsaber); SQ Deflect (defense +2, attack -4, extend defense and attack), profile, target bonus +1; SV Fort +6 Ref +5 Will +8; SZ M; FP 4; DSP 0; Rep +4; Str 10 Dex 13 Con 13 Int 16 Wis 16 Cha 16.

Hey all! I am playing Taps and Paps, twin Far'ghuls! I spoke with Moose about it, so its cool! So without further ado....

Paps and Taps were born to their parents at Corellia were their parents immigrated when the first Death Star was destroyed. They were twins and very happy and good babies. Even during childhood, they were each others best friends. They went every where together, did everything together and finished each other’s sentence. Taps showed talent for singing and Paps learned how to pilot. They were both fairly good, and when the band O thy Noise came along to Corellia and offered Taps a singing job and Paps the offer to pilot, they accepted.

At 19, the twins had visited many planets and had observed much. When the band was broke up because the Imperials had suspected the band was conspiring with rebels, Paps and Taps were watched. Both twins, however, offered to work for the Imperials to prove that they were innocent. They worked as janitors aboard a vessel but were kicked off because they kept pulling practical jokes. Paps and Taps then wandered around the galaxy, pick pocketing for the fun of it, telling jokes or singing to crowds and visiting gambling tournaments. They ran into someone that would change their life. A group hired out by the Tavers Cartel to steal a vessel *bumped* into them (Taps was trying to pick pocket one of them). The group hired out them to help steal the vessel, which they did and seceded. The vessel was owned by a Barabel who now holds a deep grudge against both of them.

When the New Republic was formed, the twins were marked as possible suspects, due to play in the band. The twins once again tried to prove their allegiance. They offered several tidbits of information that they had learned during their service aboard the ISD. They even have undertaken occasional NRI missions… for a fee. Always for a substantial fee. But they are good and have been hired by other people (mostly criminals) to provide information. The twins don’t care, they just want the money.

The twins are very easy-going, fun loving and always telling jokes or laughing at something. Some say they are frivolous and not very serious, which is somewhat true. Paps is the more serious out of the two and keeps an eye on Taps to make sure he does not get into trouble. Both of them may be silly and pulling and telling jokes as fast as they can, but any time they hear something worth remembering, they file it away for further reference. Most people are comfortable around the pleasant Far’ghuls and tend to give away information. It is this quality that makes the twins good freelance agents.

Both twins are brown furred and both have green eyes. They look very much alike, except Paps has a longer tail then Taps. Both are friendly and very easy to get along with. Taps and Paps are still very close and are each other’s constant companions. They have a large and extended family that they see every once in awhile.

While most Nagai are now full members of the New Republic, some have been living in other sectors of the galaxy through recent times and are considered citizens of non-member worlds. Mykel Ferral is one of these few.

Mykel has served in the Corporate Sector Security Division. His job is that of a Corporate Information Analysist. He gathers different pieces of information about corporations usually within the CSA, and tries to discern if they are doing illegal business. If so, he has to put together enough information to build a legal case and then Legal takes care of the rest.

As more and more corporations are dealing with Industrial Espionage, Mykel has learned to infiltrate their companies to get at hidden computers, which contain the information necessary to legally battle the corporation. This has, on occasion, brought him in harm’s way, and so he has learned many different defense techniques to protect himself from danger.

While the CSA generally does not involve itself in New Republic matters, if Hazil, Inc is hiding something, there are higher corporations that want to know. Mykel is the CSA’s token person on the taskforce, and if his mission is successful, this could be an important diplomatic bargaining chip to bring the CSA into the New Republic.

Hey all. Moose has given me the green light to play. This is the guy that'll be backing y'all up.

Brix

It wasnt until he was tall enough barely peak through the barred window of his room that Brix wondered if their was anything else to life besides fighting and training. He had learned much about life already. Gamorreans favor overhand swings with most of the weight shifted on the heal of their left foot. He was a very strong human, much more than those he fought. Wookiees have a sharp, tangy tasting blood. But, is this how everyone lives? He wondered who the people above the pit fought to earn food. Keeper, his father, told him such questions were silly but Brix still wondered.

Brix was tall enough to rest his arms on the window sill when they came. There was lots of noise and yelling, he hoped Keeper was alright. When his cell door burst open and two massive beast-like dark scaled creatures entered. Brix took up his stance ready for the worst; he'd never fought things like this. They didnt advance but when he saw Keeper mangled and bloody in the grasp of one in the corridor, he did. One fell but more came to restrain the youth. It only took two to do this. Brix was amazed at their strength. A leader-type entered a snarled something at him. His needle fanged mouth and cold slitted eyes took on an expectant glare when the youth didnt respond. After barking a command sounding noise over his shoulder a fourth invader entered wearing shiny metallic armor. The finish was so polished he could see the part of his room over his back and even the two beasts holding him. What shocked Brix the most was what his captors were restraining: another beast that appeared as they did. This new creature stared right back at Brix, looking as scared as he felt.

After his fifteenth recon extraction, years later, Brixalashu now wondered how many more names there were for what he did. Born in the "Sport" Pits of Renedal, he was raised as a pit fighter, at least that was straight forward. Then there was the 4 standard years he spent "crusading" with his Barabel "brothers" and "assisting" in their liberation of enslaved sentients. After that 6 years of being "enlisted" in New Republic special forces.

Where had the time gone? He knew the answer but it all still amazed him. Is fighting all he'll ever do? What would he do if he didn't have to fight?

Fighting isn't so bad.

Brix is a 1.9m tall male Barabel weighing about 125kg. His thick keratin scales are deep blue with purple accents around his yellow slit pupil eyes, wide needle-fanged mouth, and amber 6cm claws. Many confuse his demeanor as being that of the strong silent type. Actually he is an extremely deep thinker, often to the point of obliviousness. If asked he is more than happy to expound on his many speculations on varied topics, to the misfortune of those too polite or intimidated to excuse themselves.

Well just wanted to say hello to everyone and give a few updates. We are waiting on a few more players then we will begin the IC thread. Aside from an interesting plot, we have assembled one of the most eclectic group of characters I have seen in a while. So aside from the plot we have worked out you can expect some very interesting sub stories dealing with our character interactions, so while keeping a wary eye on the enemy is a good idea, remember you might also have to keep an eye on those that you work with.

Well now that I have sowed the seed of distrust:D I would just like to say keep an eye open for the IC thread. For those that still wish to join don’t worry if the IC thread has already been posted you may join up at any point so just PM me and we will work you into the story.

Hi everybody! Here's the character I will be playing. Looks like this will be an interesting group.

Lady Aurum of Kuat

At first glance, Lady Melisonne Calendae Aurum of Kuat appears to be a dignified and aloof woman. She is very well bred and well educated and is quite aware of these facts. She typically considers herself to be above those around her, only paying them any mind if she feels they can further her ambitions in some way. It is this tendency which earned her the enemies that eventually saw her imprisoned for her illegal business practices. Her family used much of their pull in the upper classes to keep the trial very quiet, and so only a few are aware of the exact charges that were leveled against her.

For the last three years, Lady Aurum has been confined to a penal facility on Coruscant, where she is visited often by the few people she actually calls friends. However, recently the New Republic government approached Lady Aurum with a deal. They requested that she be part of a team that was attempting to investigate Hazil Inc. and any possible connections it might have to recent attacks on New Republic forces. With her knowledge of business, both legitimate and illegitimate, she could prove quite useful to the group. And her contacts in the underworld and in the business world could also prove advantageous. In exchange for her cooperation, she will be released from the penal facility and get a chance to start her life over again.

Lady Aurum is actually a very skilled negotiator, despite her typically negative attitude. She is quite able to convince most people who don’t really know her of her sincerity, at least for as long as it takes for her to get what she wants from people.

Lady Aurum is of average height, and is very attractive. However, her prideful nature tends to put most people off. Her dark auburn hair grows in wavy curls almost to her waist, and she usually keeps it arranged with elaborate ornaments. Her mode of dress is designed to impress upon those around her that she is of a higher station than they are, and so she often sports expensive gowns and abundant jewelry, with silver being her personal favorite. When keeping a low profile, she tones down her choice of garments considerably, but still tends to wear too much jewelry.

Lady Aurum: Female Human Noble 2/Scoundrel 1; Init +1 (+1 Dex); Defense +14 (+3 class, +1 Dex); Spd 10 m; VP/WP 15/10; Atk+2 ranged (3d4/20 or DC 10 stun, Blaster, hold out, range 4 m) or +1 melee (1d4±0/20, Knife, range 2 m); SQ Bonus class skill: Bluff, Favor +1, Illicit barter, Inspire Confidence; SV Fort ±0, Ref +5, Will +6; SZ M; Rep 1; Str 10, Dex 13, Con 10, Int 17, Wis 14, Cha 16.

Here is the team's surgeon & forensics "expert."

Dr. Tija Aurelian, Jedi

Tija (pronounced TEE-a) was the child of 2 members of the Sabre Squadron, Mairus & Lura Rikkart. When she was about 8, she became deathly ill. They asked the Sabres' former flight surgeon, Danny Aurelian, to help her. The surgeon had saved many "hopeless cases" amongst Rebel casualties, either by skill or sometimes just fantastic luck. (ie, "None of the organs were ruptured after all! That paramedic's RFX/K Medisensor musta been defective!")

And Tija was another "miracle" for Danny. Tija quickly bonded with her parents' old friend. The little girl would later tell them that he never gave shots or did anything to hurt her--mostly just sat with her, holding her hand & telling stories. They were certain she was just too sick to remember, but Tija knew better--she knew, young as she was, that Danny had cured her without medical equipment.

When her parents were, ironically, killed in a civilian transport crash, Danny adopted the now 11 year old. Her aging adopted father proved--as he had with the Sabres--to be a treasure-trove of tales about the last years of the Old Republic, though he would never speak of the Clone Wars, much less whatever was known to the general public of the Jedis' fate.

As Tija adjusted to the tragedy, she began to show interest in his work & decided to be a surgeon herself. He was now a medical professor. Tija often accompanied him & he taught her how to assist. Danny even began making arrangements for medical school scholarships to be in place for the girl he'd come to love as his own.

Tija soon realized she could sense something happening when he saw patients--and at other times. She questioned Danny relentlessly--and his efforts to "distract" the girl had no effect. Eventually he told her that he was a Jedi survivor--& she had the talent to become a Jedi Knight. He even told her about his training & a little of some of the other Jedi he knew. Over the next few years, he trained his daughter in the Jedi arts, including the basics of Healing.

They had one recurring argument. Danny wanted Tija to continue her training at the Praexium--and she refused because he had avoided Luke & his Academy for years. None of his reasons made much sense to her--it would make difficulties for Luke; the Academy curriculum was too different for him to adapt to; getting sabbaticals was hard.

Like any young teen, his "apprentice" had more answers than her parent had objections--& some of them actually made sense. Like Master Skywalker would certainly want to know how she came to him with so much training, plus a lightsaber. Eventually, Dr. Aurelian agreed to go along. They spent much time there, until Tija entered med school.
After her graduation, when the Council sought Jedi to aid in the investigation of Hazil, Inc., Tija volunteered at her father's behest. He wanted her to gain experience working with others of a variety of talents & suggested it might be a little like some of his experiences as a Rebel flight surgeon.

Tija is very devoted to Danny & considers her & the old Jedi as padawan & mentor in the traditional sense--& to the Maw with anyone who disapproves. She is in contact with her father frequently. The lime-green lightsaber she carries is his.

Tija is a 22 year old human woman of average height & build who appears to be several years younger. Set in lt. golden-brown skin, her green eyes are gold-flecked & appear slightly tilted, giving her an exotic appearance. Her thick dark brown hair is usually braided or piled on top of her head.. It also means that those who do not know her family background think that Danny Aurelian, with his green eyes & olive skin, is her biological father.

While on duty, especially treating patients, Tija is both serious & gentle. And becomes quite focused. Off duty she is like a typical university student, hoping to get some studying done between her partying. If she only knew--she is not so different from her "mentor" as a young man...

Well it seems that we have gotten off to a good start. I have some good and bad news, but more good than bad I would say;) I have received several messages of interest in the game from various other Holonetters and have some that have already made characters. Because of the influx of new players I am going to ask that we hold off on posting in the IC thread until after the holidays. This will enable the new players to get their characters in, me to figure out how to integrate them, and allow everyone to start from the same point. I think this is for the better, sorry for those of you that have already made your characters and started posting. I hope everyone has a Happy Holiday and a good New years. We will begin posting with much fervor I hope in the New Year and should be in for quite a ride.

I'm around, waiting for Vido to introduce Lady Aurum before I post.

If it doesn't seem like that's going to happen soon, I'll post anyway and we can introduce the Lady later.

Could we just make posting optional? That way we can cont. conversations. We won't do any plot-further stuff till after New Years'? Can we do that?

Ardent

I've got no problem with advancing the plot, but it's Moose's decision. I think we actually have one or two other players working on characters right now.

As soon as Moose feels ready, I'll post my bit and we'll get moving.

Sorry about not posting sooner, but I've been away from the computer for a while. Or perhaps Lady Aurum wanted to be fashionably late?

Anyway, I should have something posted in the next couple of hours. Everything looks real good so far.

And Lady Aurum is somewhat of a snob, though she tries not to show it, but if anyone feels I come across too strongly or anything, let me know and I'll tone it down a hair.

The online games like this might be the easiest way, since there will be sso little mechanics after the pc is designed.

And I have played in a few with my hubby without much problem. The biggest we've encountered is in a game on Yahoo Groups--sometimes one of us inadvertently posts under the other's username:rolleyes: , but people can easily figure out "who" is posting, since our pc names aren't also our usernames.

Hello everyone! I've talked with Moose and he's given me the green light to post my character for this little "escapade." :D

Actually I suppose I should say characters......anyway, here's the preview.

Captain Del Messer, Cargo Runner/Independent Freighter Pilot

Born on the world of Kelfor just after the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Del endured a troubling and painful childhood. The only son of wealthy merchants, Del witnessed the execution of his father at the hands of Separatist thugs working for the Techno Union. Too young to understand at the time, Del later learned as a young boy that his father had refused to supply Separatist factions with valuable kelishi extract, an oil native to the grass on Kelfor. Unbeknownst to the common individual, kelishi was a potent poison and was easily adaptable as an aerosol weapon. It was obvious to Del’s father that the Separatists intended to use the kelishi extract on the clone army of the Republic. Sacrificing himself in front of Del and his mother, Del’s father died a terrible death from the Techno Union’s advanced battle droids. The Messer family lost all its assets as a result and were forced to abandon their native world of Kelfor.

As a young man, Del supported his mother by volunteering at a shipping company in the Malastare System. Here Del transported supplies and goods to neighboring Kinyen and Naboo in an effort to rebuild the damage done to those two worlds in the aftermath of the Clone Wars. The newly declared Empire, despite rumors of atrocities by Emperor Palpatine, became a symbol of stability to Del. With the Separatist threat eradicated and the galaxy under the firm grip of social order, Del felt a sense of peace about the death of his father. Deep down, Del believed his father’s sacrifice had been one of many acts that eventually defeated the forces of Count Dooku and helped establish the strong Imperial monarchy. These feelings changed after one special delivery to Rori, Naboo’s moon and primary colony world.

With his mother comfortably settled and a decent-paying job, Del began to rise in the hierarchy of TransGalMeg Industries. The future seemed poised for opportunity when Del was nearing his early twenties. As whisperings of a Rebellion against the Empire stirred in the Outer Rim Territories, Del considered asking for a promotion to a management position after a final delivery to Rori. Upon arrival, Del discovered that Rori was lit up with the verdant bolts of an Imperial Star Destroyer. Witnessing the horror of thousands of colonists being incinerated on the surface for no apparent reason, Del flashed back to his childhood, remembering the battle droids raising their wrists in his father’s final seconds of life, remembering the searing lasers tearing his father’s body apart. Anger filled him and Del abandoned the delivery to report back to his superiors. To his utter shock, Del found his superiors unmoved by his story and claimed that the colony world had become a hot-bed for traitorous ilk, members of a so-called Rebel Alliance.

It wasn’t until ten years later, after his mother passed of natural causes, that Del quit TransGalMeg Industries and joined the SoroSuub Corporation. The galaxy had just come off a terrible Civil War, of which Del had purposefully decided to avoid because of the death and destruction it had caused. With SoroSuub, Del became an instant success, earning contracts after contracts. Unfortunately, as Del rose up the cargo runner business, he also attracted the attention of the less savory type. Members of shadowy underground groups began to contract Del to take on cargo shipments for them. As time passed, these shipments became more and more frequent and the contractors would only deal with Del. Recently, Del acquired a new co-pilot as a perquisite for his promotion to Sector Chief of Operations. The Sullustan, a paranoid bugger named Tllp seemed to complement Del’s gruff and unattached personality. Little does he know, members of the New Republic, the galactic government that overthrew the Empire, decided that SoroSuub’s Chief of Operations for the Lahara Sector may be just the inconspicuous pilot for a top-secret operation.

Del is a middle-aged human of approximately five feet, eleven inches in height. His deep emerald eyes reflect the unattached and gruff nature that he was forced to endure throughout his life. The short-cropped brown and gray hair complement his stubbly beard and lean build. Though not the strongest human in the galaxy, Del has as sharp a mind as any freighter pilot around. His experiences in the space lanes has caused a bad habit of smoking cigarras on an all-to-regular basis. Despite the warnings from his Sullustan co-pilot Tllp, Del has yet to shake the habit. Aboard the Action VI Bulk Freighter Fine Mess, Del and Tllp make their runs throughout the Outer Rim, particularly the Lahara Sector.

Well, I hope we'll be getting on to a regular posting schedule, now that the holidays are over.

When we were chatting the other day, Ardent told me he'd be posting by now. But it's so easy to get delayed.

Anyway, i hope everyone had a good time over the holidays.

And also Korpil that you & your bride had a lovely wedding.

Korpil
2 January 2003, 08:13 AM
Thanks a lot! It was a great moment, although very intimate, just her family, my family and the family of the friend who introduced us, who acted as witness of the wedding!

I'm ready to post, but I haven't been able to finish my character, I leave you all with the story, he's a 4th level Frg/TS, but I haven't had the time to finish the character..

P. Derek deLinnio

P. Derek was born on a remote agricultural world near the Corporate Sector twenty-nine years ago. His father owned a large ranch with banthas and nerfs, allowing young P. Derek (as his father always called him, but he prefers just Derek ) to own the fastest land vehicles available. But although very skilled and proficient (even winning once the planetary championship) his mind was somewhere else, but he could not know exactly where until he turned 24.

Both his father and mother died, and he left his ranch in the hands of his younger brother and took a cruiser to Coruscant. But he never got that far, marveled at Kuat's inmense shipyards he applied for a job. But his money couldn't help him here, so he got a job without future. Bored and displeased he turned to computers for entertainment.

And then, he found his passion. Slicing. Starting at an older age that most of his fellow slicers, he rapidly established himself as one of the top leaders of his slicing clan, the Raw Meat Eaters. Three years later he almost escaped imprisonment by the Empire when breaking Imperial codes for the Alliance.

Now, he works under contract for the New Republic. For his latest assignment he was sent to a former Imperial library to break the codes of the local Moff's files.

Physically, he's short and bulky, although without any particularities that should make you glance. He has blonde hair and wears it very very short.

Everyone, I'm sorry I haven't got my post up after being so impatient earlier. For those who don't follow the GRaD OOC thread, we had unexpected--bet very welcome--visitors this weekend. My post is half-finished & I will get in on this afternoon after church.

BTW how are we handling the actions, for example just for his own personal fun my character wants to break in the hotel's computer system, how do I know if he could do it and if by sheer luck he founds something relevant to the mission?

Ris
8 January 2003, 06:44 AM
Korpil, For the kind of situation you're describing where it's likely to affect the game greatly, I just state what I'm trying & leave it there.

The scenario you mentioned, I'd write something like
"He sneaks into the main computer room while the guard is watching a cute Twi'elk bellhop girl. He takes out his datapad with the Mark100K slicing program, hooks it up & runs it. Data starts to scroll on the screen." End your post there & the GM can take it up.
This also works for major interactions with npc's & other pc's:

Korpil
8 January 2003, 07:32 AM
Oh, got it! Thanks a lot! :D

Ris
8 January 2003, 09:19 AM
Sure thing, Korpil. The post was great, btw.
This method also works good for extensive &/or important interactions with NPC's & other PC's. It's also possible sometimes, (especially with IC conversations) to do "scene switches" instead of just ending. Example:
"Tija tells Kali that Mr. Hazil's secretary told her blah, blah, blah. She makes a quick sketch from memory of the diagram on the woman's terminal.
After the 2 Jedi finish the discussion, Tija goes to her quarters intending to try out a Jedi exercise her father had shown her."

Now, if you're in combat, just make it look & sound good. If you read through the GRaD (Grunts, Rogues & Automatic Dishwahsers) IC thread, there are some good examples of combat posts, especially for starfighter combat.

Guys, I may be a little slow in posting this week as it's shaping up to be a busy one. I'll poke in where I can, but I need to study for more EMS exams, and my brain is appropriately reeling from the dos and don'ts of OB/Gyn and severe cardiac trauma and COPDers and...yeah, well, 'nuff said I think. All the stuff I, as a tech, am never likely to have to remember in the field but still have to prove I learned at some point. Oh, and new acronyms. How I love new, exciting and useful acronyms...like BURP...and...brain destabilization...

Okay, since Ris is the only person who will even have a remote notion of what I'm referring to, I'll stop rambling now...

Great googly mooglies I knew I forgot something. I've been so over-stressed lately I'm sorry guys.

I'll try to put something together tonight. I'm also going to drop the post limit, you guys can converse as freely as like, and even advance existing scenes in the direction you want. Be careful using other people's characters, though. Gray and Kali should be treated like major NPCs.
