View Full Version : Help, what ship??

13 June 2003, 07:37 PM
I watched Phantom Menace again this evening... and as I was watching realized the ship which transports Qui-Jon and Obi Wan to the Trade Fed ship at the start of the movie is EXACTLY what I've been seeing in my mind's eye for a ship for my players.

Does anyone know what it is?? It looks sorta Corellian because of the drive configuration, but would love more details if anyone has any.

The Republic ship at the beginning is a Corellian Space Cruiser. It is on page 234 of the Revised Core Rulebook.

Anyone seen any deck plans for this beast?

Are you talking about this (http://swagonline.net/view.php?photo_id=981&screen=2&action=search&selectcat=starship&date=&type=search) ship?

Look here (http://starwars-rpg.net/toris/Radiant%20VII.gif) for his deckplans to the Corellian Cruiser (Radiant VII in TPM).

And my players ask me why I love these forums so much... Silly them.

Here's (http://www.starwars.com/databank/starship/republiccruiser/index.html) the Databank entry. Nice plans, based on Episode I Incredible Cross-Sections. The ship is a cousin of the Corellian corvette (Episode IV) and the Star Shuttle (end of Episode I), and a smaller (50 m) version is the KR-TB "Doomtreader" seen in Bounty Hunter.

Who wouldn't love these forums? It's SWRPG Heaven here! Not to mention the fast response time you got on your request for deckplans.

Now, since, you want them on this ship, you do know it's an unarmed diplomatic ship, right? There is an armed cousin made during the Clone Wars.

The armed variant is used by the Judicial Department long before the Clone Wars start...

Yes, though not nearly as many. As I said, they were made during the Clone Wars, not invented. Many people associate Old Republic Era with the Clone Wars, since they think Episode II was much better than Episode I. I suppose if there were sounds it would be easier to understand where the emphasis was on a sentence :P. My point was that the variant was around in the during the Clone Wars.

Mm. I think the 968 years of the Rise of the Empire era before Episode I is just as good a setting as the brief period of trouble and war the films centre on. It doesn't help when a few official materials (Starships of the Galaxy, for one) seem to think the Rise of the Empire era is just Episodes I-III...
