This is the OOC thread for Mission: The Blackened Throne.

Please discuss character ideas and such with the other players here. You can also post your character background and stats when they are ready.

Any announcments regarding the campaign will go in here.

All other stuff (anything that is not in-char roleplaying and does not belong in the IC thread) will also go in here.

Well, I start it off, talking about party balance and character specialization.

For reference, my draft character is posted HERE (http://holonet.swrpgnetwork.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18480&perpage=1&pagenumber=18/).

She'll be good at gaining access to computers, buildings, and security systems, both physically and electronically. But I suspect that a dedicated "slicer" character will be more capable in specific areas. Likewise, I think she has decent combat skills, but anyone more focused on combat will be better.

I hate to call her a "jack-of-all-trades," but there it is. I think that some degree of redundancy is helpful (necessary, really) for a team like this; hopefully, she'll function as everyone's back-up.

Pure physical stealth may be her biggest specialty; I plan to advance her Hide and Move Silent skills, and may never touch other skills like Computer Use, Demolitions, repair, etc.

As far as feats, she'll probably focus on gun-related skills, and get Advanced Martial arts when (if) she qualifies.

But all of this is subject to change, according to imput form you guys, and on what transpires in-game.

I'll leave it at that for now; Almaster I'll try to send you a detailed character record and background by Monday.

Looking forward to the game!

A group like this should have a leader of some sort. If who that is should be established OOC or IC, or if it should be the same leader at all times no matter what they are doing is the bigger question.

I agree. And I don't want to do it. :)

Miira's... not leadership material.

Any volunteers?

And neither is Rand Talon.

I have sent my character sheet to you, including about 1/2 page of background.

Note: All your assumptions that there is no credit limit are correct. The mission is being funded by the endless coffers of Xizor. However, you may still only select equipment that is era appropritate. Any very rare equipment must be obtained in game: only common weapons (even if they are restricted) may be obtained out of game.

By the way, Almaster

When I PMed you my charecter I frogot to save it on my computer:rolleyes: Can you please post it here as well.

By the way all, My charecter is sam fisher personality, not nessiserily style.

My dude likes sniping with his militery grade sniper rifle witch is silenced and could help with an assaination.......please note blasters can't be silenced!!!

My guy's pretty generic so I might be willing to change him to the slicer. Do we have a demo specilist? Here's my plan for the layout.

Sniper:
Slicer:
Demo:
Monkey (2nd story man):
???????:

If anyone has Ideas for the 5th person please tell me. If the 5th player dosn't show up. Good for us.

From what you say about common weapons, should we infer that only mastercraft +1, and not +2 or +3, weapons and equipment can be selected before we start play? And what exactly does that mean for customized and personalized equipment?

chiefcaptain from what I remember from Psych's preliminary post, his character had his highest skill in demolition, boccelounge might fit the monkey or slicer role somewhat well, you're the sniper.

My character might be able to be a reserve slicer or demolition expert, but he is a combat medic and doesn't fit any of the roles you posted very well.

Ok, people, there is a minor problem here.

Tiberon4 says he will only be able to post 4-5 times per week. This seems to be below the standard of what we are doing now.
Do you think that this will be "in-sync" with the rest of you? If you all plan on posting (almost) every day, or more than once every day, then maby it would be best if we continued without Tiberon4.

However, if you feel that 4 times per week is OK, then we will go ahead with that.

Can I please get some feedback on this?

Lucas Carr
13 August 2005, 08:53 AM
Mondays to Saturdays I am online almost all the time when I'm not at work and for the rest of August I work from 12 pm to 9 pm (at GMT +1) Mo-Th and from 9 am to 1 pm on Fridays, whatever that is for you. And while I am online, I'll be able to post more than once per day, though I don't know what the time difference will do about that.

So if the time difference works against me, I will only be able to post once per day even though I have time to post more. But that all depends on the rest of you and when you are online.

Until September, I'll be able to post more than once a day most days, but a 4-5 times a week player is fine by me. Also 4-5 times does not mean 4-5 posts-conversations are likely to occur (do you guys plan to know Lorrdian?) and there will likely be other times when there are 2-3 or more of us on. Now I'm off to see if I missed anything in the recruitment thread.

Lucas Carr

As per your suggestion, Rand does know Lorrdian. And from what I saw of boccelounge's post so does his character.

EST Post times:
Saturdays:random from 8 aM to 10:30 PM, generally on for several hours on multiple occasions, don't fault me if I'm not.
Sundays: usually once between 7AM and 10:15 AM, then anytime after six usually on once then.
Mon-Fri of this week: possibly 7-8:15, but unlikely. Then anytime after 1:00-10:30 possible.
September: Its not then yet so I won't go there.

Note: Gone somewhere in neighbourhood of Aug 25-31 camping. Not likely to post much first week of September-er school-and posting will vary over the school year.

I will comment from top to bottem

1. A headset would work best in my opinion

2. I lean twords slugthrowers as an assasin because they can be silenced

3. For the demo guy only

More comments

The monkey should have a grappling hook and/or magnetic climing claws of some sort if possable.

The slicer or the monkey should have disable divice skills.

That's all my comments on the guide thing. just input.

The grenades are also for the demo guy.

Why do I need them emailed? Because sometimes my word files get corrupted, or microsoft word just won't work. So I use the emails as a backup.

Just one question about your character, cheifcaptin. When you say you have a "stealth suit," what do you mean? Do you mean this:

Ayelixle/Krongbling Textiles Shadowsuit (-1 check penalty)

Or something else.

chiefcaptin
14 August 2005, 05:47 AM
I would mean the best stealth suit available. Which would be the Shadow Suit I'm pressuming. We determined that we would all use a shadow suit. I don't know what they do because I'm not getting the A&EG until tommorw but by then I will. By the way, can you remove the apperence discription? PM's don't get corrupt and nor do Notepad docs. I don't think you would want me to email you. I have a bad virus on my computer. (I'm using my dad's labtop)

Also, I have limited access to the following rulebooks, and no access to the ones not listed here, so that doesn't help much.

More about Cory Lorilles:

Cory Lorilles Human Slicer Cory is your average Slicer he spent his younger years slicing into various low security operations. School records, pilots licenses, mom and pop store's credit accounts. Once Cory comfortable with these minor league ventures he graduated up into what he felt was the big leagues. Slicing into banks, government offices and large corporations he lived the life of one on top of the world. After a few years of the good life he realized that he wasn't a slicer just for the money. He enjoyed the challenge of slicing into what others thought was impregnable. Cory began finding high profile high securities organizations to slice into, although he never showed as much profit as before, he found that he was living a much more satisfied life. Cory eventually got so cocky as to his skills he even sliced into the local Black Sun organization ran by the man known as Green. Cory sent himself a payroll check as a consultant for computer security and put himself on the employee list. Six months after he did this he actually got a call from Green bringing him into the main office as agreed by his retainer. Green had a job for him, to find out who had sliced thier system six months earlier. Cory naively informed Green that he was the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be, told him of his slicing and informed Green what would be the benefits of a man like Cory in his organization. Green hired him on the spot, Cory's reputation quickly grew and the jobs he was set up for expanded immensely, he no longer took pride in just being the man who sliced the system he now took part in commando raids where computer obstacles were expected to be involved. Cory found he enjoyed life without the safety of a computer between himself and the enemy. Now after working for Green for a few years he has become aware of a skimming being taken off the top of all Black Sun operations, Cory traced these skimmings back to Green himself and personally encoded a message to Prince Xizor informing him of the situation. Xizor's reply was "plans are in motion" One week later Cory was transferred per Prince Xizor's request to Coruscant.

He is um, interesting.

First if you ask me he is a little over equiped.

If you were a guard of the imperial palace would you notice a guy walking in with a truck load of supplies, wepons, and illigal supplies.

I suggest 2 guns, a pistol and a rifle

1 master crafted data pad (sortof a labtop)
1 comlink
1 secutity kit

and a couple more perferables. Nothing to much like code cylenders ect.

Tiburon4

Just hitting the basics of what he has, not gonna take all the stuff in the palace with me.
Figured we'd have a IC planning phase and it'd be good to be a gadget guy or at least be able to get a hold of whatever I need.

You may only have mastercraft +1. Any other mastercraft additions must be done within game.

PsychoInfiltrator

As per new regulations, consider all eqipment formerly Mastercraft 3 mastercraft 1. As to the promised beta stat block-I'm kinda busy, but it might appear later tonight.

Almaster
14 August 2005, 07:09 PM
I'm sorry I wasn't totally clear on how equipment worked.

I'll lay all the rules down now.

STARTING:

There is no credit limit, but you may only have commonly availble equipment.
Just because there is no credit limit does not mean you can carry a suitcase around. All the rules for carrying weight will apply.
You may customize equipment.
You may only have mastercraft 1.
You may not purchase starships, speeders, ect.

Use common sense. If your character came from a peacful planet, then you probably wouldn't have any millitary weapons on you. If you came from a war zone, you would.

WITHIN GAME:

Depends on what Xizor has in his private armory. You will probably have access to more powerful weapondry. You may also have mastercraft equipment beyond level 1.

Lucas Carr
15 August 2005, 12:00 AM
Gloves and face mask are included in the Shadowsuit. What would be the point if they weren't?

It seems like I missed to change one +3 weapon to +1 in the mail I sent you. It should be +1 not +3.

Background:
Before Rand was born his parents worked on a luxury liner that more or less constantly traveled the galaxy. She was a waitress and he was a dishwasher (or similar low level jobs better suited for SW). And Rand was conceived on one of those trips. But as the company had a strict rule of no fraternization among the staff, they were thrown off at Corellia as they were docking to pick up and drop off passengers.

Rand was born early and he was very week at birth. But his parents never waited for him to grow stronger; instead they went to Alderaan hoping that they could get their jobs back so that they wouldn’t have to go home with the shame. But they weren’t rehired and they no longer had the money to travel, so they were stuck on Alderaan.

On Corellia, Rand joined the military when he was 16 and because he did so well, his application into Special Warfare was accepted. There he specialized as a combat medic.

After four years in the military, he was on leave when he saw a superior officer assault a lone female. And as Rand defended her honor, he by accident killed the officer. And as the military police discovered the trio at that time, Rand was soon court-martialed. And even though he had acted to defend the woman, she was never found and Rand was dishonorably discharged.

What Rand doesn’t know, was that he was set up by Black Sun. They wanted the officer dead and when Rand had discovered the female assassin sent to take the officer out, she pretended to be assaulted. Later, one of Black Suns contacts in the Corellian Military informed them that Rand would become a good addition and they arranged to have him dishonorably discharged. What followed was a slow step by step process that entrenched him in the criminal syndicate.

Feats: Armor Proficiency (light), Cautious, Martial Arts, Defensive Martial Arts, Improved Martial Arts, Point Blank Shot, Stealthy, Weapon Group Proficiency (blaster pistols, blaster rifles, heavy weapons, simple weapons, vibro weapons).

Background: Miira Klast's unique talents to get in and out of places unseen was discovered when she was only a young girl, stealing blumfruit from the marketplace stalls on the backwater planet Greck. Her "discoverer" was none other than Galo Grendu, a conniving and ruthless local crime boss. Grendu took the young Miira into his organization, and gave her training to develop and refine her innate abilities as an infiltrator and thief. Soon, Miira established herself as the star of Grendu's stable of cutpurses and cat-burglars. As her abilities grew, so did the organization. In time, Grendu had firmly established himself as the underworld boss on Greck and several of its planetary neighbors.

Within a decade, Grendu had become a minor Vigo in the Black Sun organization, and when he left Greck he took Miira with him. It is believed that she received her initial training in advanced personal combat at this time. Vigo Grendu's ambitions knew no limits; he imagined that his star would continue to rise, right to the top of the Black Sun. to prepare for what he saw as his unstoppable ascendancy to leadership over the entire Black Sun, he began organizing his own personal army. Miira was by now one of Vigo Grendu's chief lieutenants, and saw to the training of a cadre of deadly infiltrators. Vigo Grendu was certain that this army of his could defeat even Xizor, and would assure Grendu's dominance over the organization.

Predictably, to everyone but Grendu, such blind ambition was not unnoticed within the Black Sun. When the rogue Vigo's private army was nearly complete, and his mad plans to eliminate his rivals about to commence, the Black Sun struck a pre-emptive blow. Hordes of thugs, soldiers, and trained assassins descended on Vigo Grendu's training complex. The fight was brutal and brief. In the course of that bloody afternoon, Vigo Grendu's organization and all his far-fetched dreams of glory were annihilated.

The only thing surprising about the destruction of Vigo Grendu's organization is that anyone survived-- namely Miira. When Prince Xizor inevitably caught wind of Vigo Grendu's arrogance, he moved quickly and ruthlessly to eradicate "Grendu's Army." Why Xizor spared her, only the Green Lord himself knows. It is possible that despite Vigo Grendu's foolish arrogance, he had struck upon an idea worthy of future study-- namely Miira. The Prince took the young infiltrator back to his lair on Coruscant, and there she remains.

Personality: Despite her considerable talents, Miira is a quiet and unassuming young woman. In large social gatherings, she often comes off as painfully shy. She has few friends, and no known intimate confidantes. She has shown great loyalty, however, to those that befriend her. Despite Grendu's arrogance, boorishness, and generally abusive behavior toward his underlings, Miira remained faithful to her employer to the very end. It is rumored that no fewer than 12 of Xizor's hired assassins fell by her hand in the final attack on Grendu. It remains to be seen if she will transfer this loyalty to her new master, Prince Xizor.

Appearance: at work (http://swagonline.net/view.php?photo_id=1403) , and waiting for work (http://swagonline.net/view.php?photo_id=542)

The officer was found dead in his bed the next night.

Over the years he linked up with the Black Sun and his reputation grew. He is now one of the most successful assassins in the galaxy but he is about to take on the hardest mission yet.

There's your sniper for ya.

One other thing: can someone verify the armor customization/personalization rules, according to the Arms and Equipment Guide?

There are two damaged/missing pages in my AEG, and one them is the armor customiztion rules.

Specifically, I need to know: how many total customizations/personalizations are possible for a suit of ligh armor
you can increase the DR
you can reduce the armor check penalty
I was going from memory-- so I'd better double-check. Thanks.

You have 1 customization or 1 personalization for light armor. To increase DR you must mastercraft armor, there is no other way. But you can lower ACP by one with modification.

Dray Rakon's parents were pacifist Alderaanians. They imposed a strong sense of pacifism in him. They also told him to avoid the darkness that consumes the soul.
All of that chenged, several days after his younger brother Ylom (5) died of a wasting disease. Dray had visited a friend, and was coming home early-it was supposed to be a sleepover, he couldn't sleep-and he saw somebody enter his house. He slippedi n the side door, and could only watch in horror as his younger sister, mother, and older sister were assaulted and murdered by two vibroknife-wielding assassins. His father was stabbed in the gut three times. Ylom's pet nerf was skinned alive.
His mind and soul forever scarred, Dray fled his home. Hed decided to turn his back on everything his parents taught him, thinking that it hadn't saved them so why should he follow. He became a professional assassin, and never shed a tear when Alderaan was destroyed. He tracked down the two thugs. They never saw him, but he found out one crucial thing about them before he shot them dead, then blew up the motel they were staying at. Black Sun had hired them to kill his parents. When Xizor got word of the highly intelligent Dray Rakon's abilities, he had him tested on several missions. Xizor knew what had happened to Dray's family, but thinks Dray doesn't know who hired them. Dray has worked his way up the Black Sun ladder, loving war and serving "Darkness" as he calls it, until Xizor has summoned him for a special assignment. Dray means to kill Palpatine, but he wants to kill Xizor shortly thereafter.
He is very secretive about his past and his intentions, and few even know his proper name. He usually goes by "ChaosKiller One" or "The DeltaDark." Xizor usually addresses him as Commando Rakon.

The Military-Grade Comlink from HG is a headset, so I'd think it might be a good idea to wear it.

SInce there are scopes with Darkvision, could Rand have a device that would allow him to see in the dark, like a scope x1 + Darkvision? From the scope, perhaps such a thing would weigh 1kg and cost 1,000 credits.

NOTICE

Recently, some people have commented that I have not replyed to their posts. I understand this, and realize that it is a problem.
The posts I have not replyed to generally consist of “I look for this item” and “I want mastercraft 4 on this.” These posts are time consuming to reply to; I have to go and research the specifics of what that person wants, and type it up. Now, although this is my role as the GM, it takes away from time I could be expanding on the actual plot, and it slows the game down.
Therefor, the following “House Rule” will be implemented.
If you are searching for an item, you automatically find it. The same goes for armor and weapons. This logically makes sense; Xizor would not arm his hit team with sticks and rocks.
The only exceptions to this rule are:
The equipment must be ERA APPROPRIATE.
The equipment must not have extreme rarity (such as lightsabers).
If the equipment is customized (only made by on species or group), then the equipment is only available if the group could have made contact with Black Sun, and only one of the item is available (I will make calls on this, but it shouldn’t happen that often).

Nutshell: Don’t ask me when you’re arming yourself. Just do it.

I believe this will speed up the game and make it more fun.
------------------
Another comment: If the game seems to be moving slowly, don't be afraid to push it ahead. If you don't take initiative, the game just sits until I end up having to push the game, which isn't really the best senario.
-----------------
Please feel free to contact me or post questions or concerns.

Yeah, if I can make a motion to my fellow players: let's lay off the equipment stuff. It seems to me that a) we have way-cool stuff as it is, and b) the more uber-gear we get, the more likely it is the bad guys have better stuff...

I’m going to be quite honest that I just don’t have the time right now to commit to this. When I started it, it was mid-July, but vacations took up a lot of time and the campaign didn’t get started until late August. I should have forseen this, but I didn't. This term is very difficult, and I cannot sacrifice my grades for SWRPG.

If someone else wants to take over, they are perfectly welcome to do just that. Otherwise, the best I can do is say I can re-start it at a later time, or just declare it dead.

Sorry.

28 February 2006, 02:38 PM
Howdy all, I'm one of the new players. I'd like you to meet Radd Arros, martial artist and medic. He also has a few other useful skills.

Name: Radd Arros
Age: 28

Background: Radd was born on Corellia to a middle income family. His father was an ex-martial arts competitor and now worked as a trainer. His mother was a doctor and physical therapist who met Radd's father after the incident that left him unable to compete. Radd grew up in a household were physical shape mattered as much as mental prowess. He learned the beginnings of K'thri from his father, and did moderately well in the juniors circuit. His mother pushed schooling to an incredible degree, and taught him a little about medicine. He went to school at a medical university, with martial arts competions as his primary form of recreation.

The initial stages of the Clone Wars did little to disrupt Corellia, but as they dragged on it was obvious that the Clones could not handle all the duties the Republic needed. A call went out for volunteers for the army, generally for help garrisoning key worlds that had trade connections to Corellia. To his parents' dismay Radd decided to join up, volunteering for duty in the medical corps. Despite his schooling he was placed in the new rapid medical support teams, a group of corpsmen mounted on landspeeders, airspeeders, and modified speeder bikes. Their training course consisted of more piloting training than medicine, and after a short stint they were shipped to the world of Karn Relos instead of some garrison. There they went to work.

These RMST were reasonably well recieved by the clonetroopers, who had a notorious dislike for those who were not members of there brotherhood. On the other hand, its really hard to dislike the guys running into a firefight to drag your buddy out. Radd spent a lot of time driving a modified speeder bike with a stretcher attachment behind the pilot. He went weaving into combat, stabilized downed troopers and loaded them on his bike then sped away. He had two bikes shot out from under him, lost five clonetroopers in transport, and aquired a decent collection of scars from all the situations he managed to walk away from. The battle lasted about three months, and at the end he had gone from being optimistic and confident to dour and depressed. A few more months of garrison duty later and the war was over.

Returning home Radd just couldn't put things back together. He spent his free time drinkingand gambling, which was definitely a bad thing due to his tendency to lose. After fumbling a semester of school he quit and became an EMT. Soon, the gambling debts accumulated and those he owed grew impatient. One night upon returning home from his shift three hired thugs jumped him. Two were simply dispatched by his training, and the third was rapidly losing ground when he stopped and backed up. A beautiful female came out of the shadows and offered to sweep his debt clean and get him into a business were he could make far more than a glorified taxi driver. He didn't need to consider it for long. He was now a member of Black Sun.

Normally Radd's martial arts skills would make him a simple enforcer in the structure, but while his abilities to damage others were common his medical training, his ability with vehicles, and other military skills he picked up made him a good bet for the special ops teams the Prince used. A few years later his debt was cleared and he was living far better. However, he was not about to mess up this deal. Working hard and loyally for the Prince, Radd has become one of his first choices for special ops missions. Thus, when the team for the Blackened Throne mission was assembled, the only reason he wasn't at the meeting was because he was already doing some recon for it. He just hoped his teammates wouldn't slow him down.

Personality: Radd is a Corellian, born and raised. Among other things this means he has a rather odd comprehension of the odds of a situation, a gambling interest (although after paying off his debt hes been staying away from the tables), and is a terrible cook. Generally a friendly and polite person, he is outwardly carefree. However he can go from smiling and laughing to a coldblooded killer in an instant. The war has left quite a few marks on him, and among other things they are the cause for some severe personality swings at times.

Appearance: Radd has dark skin, brown eyes, and a head kept shaved. A few tattoos, mainly abstract flowing patterns, are accompanied by a few nasty scars recieved during the war. He is heavily built, as befits a martial artist and someone who used to manhandle clonetroopers in full kit. Preferring lose pant and tunic combinations, his clothing usually has the feel of either a uniform or the relaxed outfit of a fighter.

Two comments.

My character is a combat medic, I don't mind having another, but just so that you're aware of that there are two of us.

If I remember correctly, this adventure takes place during the Rebellion era and your character was an adult during the Clone Wars. If I remember correctly, that would require your character to be much older.

And welcome to the game.

I'm sorry, I must have confused you with one of the guys that left. Well, having a secondary medic isn't bad.

As for the timeline, part of that was due to me not having a detailed timeline of the Rise of the Empire time, so I didn't know how much time to give from the end of the clone wars to now. I just managed a nice one today, and realized my estimate of eight or so years to the rise of the Rebellion was way too small. I forgot about the Skywalker kids. Well, revise it to being a sort of post-Clone Wars spin-off. Corellia maintained its independence if I recall correctly, so it having its own military is logical. Instead of Clone troopers it will be more ordinary soldiers. Sorry about that, my pre-rebellion history is not the greatest.

Hey

I have some good and bad news.

First the bad news I have to take my computer off line to work on it.

The good news is I am installing a new video card. But I am not sure when I am going to get the time to get on here or even finish my character.

So if you want to wait for me good, if not?

Korwin

Here's what we are going to do:

Since we have a kinda slow player response, I am going to go ahead and re-start the game with the players we have now.
Korwin Blade, you can feel free to jump in to the action whenever you get your video drive working.

So, if I could just get a quick "OK" confermation from everybody that you are all still here and good to go, we can begin.

Still here, though I really need to read up on my character and the adventure so far to say that I'm good to go. But doing that isn't too difficult. :)

Name: Kelvin Dawnstrider
Age: 39

Kelvin Dawnstrider was born on corellia to Valen and Suzan Dawnstrider his father was a carrier mercenary and his mother would travel around the galaxy following his father. By the age of 10 Kelvin could shoot almost any weapon his his fathers armory and by age 15 was following his father down on the surface on the less dangerous missions. When he was 16 the clone wars broke out and his father decided it was to dangerous to be traveling the galaxy with his wife and child and decided to return home to corellia. Kelvin seeing the exciting galaxy closed off decided that he needed more training from his father on the weapons and equipment his father used on missions and soon found he had a natual talent for Explosives and heavy weaponry. as the clone wars raged on he honed his skills and by the time the clone wars where over he was a skilled mercenary. With the war over many war criminals and jedi had to be hunted down but his father refused to take on those jobs saying that it wasn't right to hunt down those who had served. after 10 years working side by side with his father making ends meet, if only just.
Kelvin and his father got a Job offer the like's of which they had not seen before 2 million credits all they had to do was track down and capture a renegade imperial Captain Fornor on the planet Adega. As they tracked the captain across the planet, a Imperial Stardistroyer came out of hyperspace and began to bombard the area. Kelvin managed to dive into one of the Crystal Caves that were all over area but his father was not so lucky as the entrance colapsed on him killing him instantly. it took Kelvin 2 days to find a way out of the cave network and another day to make his way back to the ship, only to find it damaged and his mother dead from stormtrooper fire. He vowed vengeance but knew he would have to bide his time and gather his resources. it took his 3 weeks to get the ship ready to travel and he knew enough from what he had seen to be able to get back to Corellia from where he would Prepare to strike back at the empire.
One year after his mothers and fathers Death he received a message from a Friend of his fathers who worked for the Black Sun Organization that he was wanted to do some work, work that would help him get the revenge he sort

Post is up.

Although the post may seem rather awkward feeling, I feel it a good in-game way to take care of the character swap, as well as get the game moving.

Hey there, Almaster! Good to see you back! :)

Help me out, please... I'm unclear: is my character, Miira, still in this? This post makes it seem like she is:

Cory calmly steps through the scanner. Ellan is just about to turn and step through after him, when a condensed beam of light hits her square in the back of the head. She crumples, obviously dead. Milliseconds later, before Cory had any time to react, a second beam hits him in the chest. His face lights up in shock, before he falls backwards, also dead.
Ellan dives for cover, but fails to escape 3 rapidly fired beams that quickly drop her to join her fallen comrades.

So Cory and Ellan (who's actually a male, IIRC) are out... but no mention of Miira.

Just let me know. I'd like to keep playing if possible, but I of course defer to your preference as GM. ;)

Let me know what's up-- thanks in advance.

Well, Miira was actually suposed to be vaporized there, but I made a typo and typed Ellan's name twice by accident. Seems OK though, as the only reason I was going to do that is I thought you weren't around any more and I was re-adujusting the plot to fix the characters. So now that I know you're back, I'll just leave Miira un-vaporized and you can continue playing.
Welcome back!
