+-+-+ Between For and Ever +-+-+

Posting guidelines, table rules, et caetera:
1. Patience. The game is going to progress in a suitable pace. If you think it's too slow, wait. Perhaps post something new. Every effort is going to be made to make the game move forward, just don't rush it. We have lives, don't we?
2. IC behaviour is absolutely separated from OOC, real life or your feelings. While you are going to be a group, therefore reasonably polite to each other, you should not be offended by your fellow characters' behaviour. They don't mean it, they are rp-ing it. Should something that makes you freak out happen, PM me, we'll try to work out a solution. Should you freak me out, I'll PM an SOS message. Kidding.
3. The OOC is your friend. Ask anything, pertaining to the game, answers will be sought for. This is the place to put stats in, this is the place to discuss the mechanics of the character's actions.
4. PMs are your hotline to me. Anything (pertaining to the game) you feel you have to ask, but want to ask it in privet finds its way in PM to me. No, I don't date through PMs :P
5. Strive to leave your fellow roleplayers with the feeling that they have met a real being from the SW universe. Roleplay.
6. Help yourself and others to immerse yourselves in the game. Add little details to the descriptions of neutral scenes, details that are not affecting the outcome of the scenes, but giving them a SW feel. Make your descriptions flavour rich. In combat additions of this sort will be at my discretion.
7. Help me, the GM, understand your characters. Flesh out ways of development for your characters. And I don't mean just your next level up skill ranks. Suggest plots, events, characters.
------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Dice outside of combat are handled by you. Just post the kind of roll you did, and the result (format: [die result+(ranks&bonuses)].
9. Dice inside combat are handled by me. You describe what your character is trying to do, I post the results.
10. Failiure to react in prompt time in combat (i.e. failiure to post in a reasonable ammount of time) will result in me directing your character for that round.
11. Most probably we will be using some kind of floor plans for action encounters, so as well as describing your action, you can d/l the floorplan, edit it, indicating exactly where you would like to move and stuff like that, and send it back to me. But just the description is equally good.
12. In combat, you post your plans. This may result in many 'if's, and other sorts of conditional situations, as you adjust your plans according to the outcome of your and others' actions. The definite outcomes are posted by me.
------------------------------------------------------------------
13. The list may expand, shrink, change. You'll be notified of that.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Here it is, just so I can put the hyperlink in my signature... Oh, and for you, my dear players. Do report in, because I hope that you have withstood the patience-requiring process of this game forming up.

That's a quick conversion (no claims to accuracy), but here it is, your ship. Thanks to Asylum shipyards (http://www.asylumshipyards.com/yt1350.htm) for the ship pic. Nice work.

Reporting for duty, my lord. :)
HmmÖ just two question about the char stats, shouldnít we have Force points (4 for Roek, 5 for my char) , Dark side points (none for Roek and my char, though you could give me one for the shadier background if you want ;) ) and Challenge Code ( C for Eboran and Shanesh?)? Second one, shouldnít Eboran have Computer Use +8, Listen +6, Repair +8, Spot +4 because of the Gearhead and the Alertness feats?

Theres a lesson to be learned here, kiddies: Never make your Char at 3:00 in the morning. Your brain may work at its best, but your fingers do not.

I didn't have my RCR with me so I went on the assumption that those two skills used Wis...my bad. Heres what it should be for both of them:

+3(Dex)+2(Ranks)+10(Shadowsuit)+2(Stealthy)-1(Armor Check Penalty)=16

Course if you deem the shadowsuit ineffective due to the bandages under it then... I just like the black and had money to spend.

Are you going to post Backgrounds with us already knowing each other or do some of us have to meet the gang?

Thanks

Roek Ekim is a human from the world of Kuat. He never stayed long on the planet, preferring to get away from the nobility of his family’s background. Exceptionally strong, Roek became adept at games of physical contact, and began traveling around backwater worlds playing what there was to play. Roek never supported nor attacked the Empire’s position. If they were leaving him alone, he would do the same.
Appearance Roek stands 2 meters tall, and is about 110 kilograms. His shaved head is accented by his dark brown eyes. He is 29 years old, but he learned to grow up quickly in the face of his challenges.
____________________________________
Eboran was born as the unplanned child of a tavern owner (mother) and a trader (father, who got himself killed in a brawl before Eboran was born) on Ord Mantell and spend his youth working in the tavern/casino his mother owned. Eboran learned many of the shadier sides of doing business from her (it was Ord Mantell after all), but never wanted to take over the family business, instead he struck out with a band of “adventures” doing this and that on the galactic rim. Aside from nearly getting himself killed several times messing with storm troopers, crime lords and ancient traps, he was able to find certain rare goods, which he sold to a rich collector. He has taken a liking to treasure hunting since then and has specialised in that area of the adventurer’s trade.
Age: 23
Appearance::Eboran is pretty normal Balosar going by the looks, though he looks healthier then the usual Balosar, lacking the sickly complexion common to his species, but still has relative pale skin by human standards and tends to get sunburns, especially on desert worlds. He is short (1,60), has dark brown hair (though he is known to colour it blond or rust red on occasion) which he keeps relatively long at the top, as to be able to hid his antennas in it should he need to. He is slightly overweight by Balosar standards (~65 kgs), though it varies with how motivated he is to keep fit and how many parties he attends. He usually has a three day beard when of adventuring or hanging out on Ord Mantell, but the beard comes and goes as he sees fit.

His dressing style varies with the company he keeps. Out adventuring he goes for solid and though leather or synthetic clothing including a well worn leather hat (inspired from watching to many old holovids) which he bought on his first adventure. Otherwise he likes spacer clothing as commonly seen on Mantell, or on more formal occasion is know to wear cape, well cut suites and holding a twilek dancing girl in each arm. He usually has his equipment hanging from a normal utility/weapons belt including a place for his Recording Rod which he often speaks into to keep a journal during expeditions and frequently uploads copies of the recordings into his expensive datapad. He has intelligent and questioning brown eyes which seem to sparkle when ancient treasures are mentioned.
_____________________________________
Shanesh My whole life I have been a slave. I remember my first owner. She was a noble human from Empress Teta. She didn't treat me well, used to whip me when I spoke.
She was the wife of some corporate bigwig who had been in the Old Republic Navy. He'd made a fortune after the Clone Wars by manufacturing munitions, and he was a really interesting guy. He taught me alot about war and had lots of stories about the war. His wife was pure evil though.
I hated that old crone with a passion, so when her husband's company drew attention from the Empire for "sympathizing with the local insurrectionists", I was more than happy to get sold away with the rest of her worldly belongings.
My new owner's name was Captain Acelia Kosig. She was from one of those high-and-mighty naval bloodlines the Empire is so proud of. Her father had served under Lord Vader back in the Clone Wars. She was fast-tracked through the academy and even got her own command. An old Victory-class Star Destroyer, the Triumphant, became my new home for the next several years.
Acelia Kosig used to take me everywhere. I even got to go planetside with her. She used to go to these ridiculous Officer's Masquerades that the local Moff used to throw every few months. He gave each one of them a different theme and requested we dress up. I remember once when Acelia, short as she was, dressed up as a Wookie prisoner and I got to be a stormtrooper. She did a pretty good impression of all that howling they do, and I got to be pretty proficient at waving my hand and saying, "Move along. Move along." I have to give those guys some credit, though. They must be crack shots to hit anything with those blasted helmets on.
The rest of the crew didn't mind me much and got used to me being around quite quickly. I used to hang out with the Triumphant's stormtroopers. We all used to spar and I proved myself pretty proficient at hand-to-hand. That would come in handy later.
Shortly after I took on my role as Acelia's bodyguard/pilot, an investigation targetted the Triumphant. Apparently some crewman had been sending communiques out to the Rebels about where convoys would be in relation to us. This had been going on for quite some time and when the ISB finally got the guy, some weasely little gunner's mate, they spaced him to prove a point to the rest of the crew. Then they came after Acelia for letting it go on for so long. I killed two of them with my bare hands, but the third got me with a stunner.
When I came to, I was in a security cell with no idea where I was. The lack of engine whine told me I was planetside. I probably would have been vaporized, but a group of Rebels decided they didn't like the practices going on. On the way out, I found a bunch of mine and Acelia's old belongings. I took what I could and headed out.
I wound up here on Ord Mantell and have been independent ever since. I was a pilot, a bodyguard, a sneek, a demolisher. Skies, I've even been a combat medic. So long as the price was right. Never had a long term goal in sight.
Age: 22
Appearance: Shanesh stands at 2.0 meters tall and weighs in at 100 kilograms. No one really knows what race he is due to the fact that he is covered from head to toe in bandages. His eyes are visible and are a startling shade of green and a black topknot can be seen jutting through the bandages, hanging to his shoulders. The bandages are covered with a skintight jet black shadowsuit which is in turn covered by a pair of pants and a flight jacket. Shanesh is rarely seen without his vibro-rapier, an exquisite weapon that oddly hangs upside down on his back. Like all other spacers he has a blaster pistol at his side and a belt of various items. He is never seen far from his ship, only venturing to the Silver Dome Cantina and "business meetings".

[Now that's one hell of a story. I wanted to give you a level 5 for that, but then again, you're getting the ship. Nice read, really.]
_____________________________________________

Okay, now some explanations. If your story seems cut or edited, it doesn't mean that I deleted that part. Your free to include it in your making buddies chit-chat, because some of the bits that have been cut can make for good roleplaying material and a good conversation between your chatacters.
Next, we're free to speculate here, but I'm imagining it like this: Eboran's the (co-)owner of the casino, where Shanesh and Roek use to hang out. Perhaps as a ship owner (got a name for the vessel?), Shanesh is better known to Eboran and he possibly spends more time in the place (Garan, got a name for the place?). On the other hand, Shanesh and Roek know each other better, cuz they did some jobs together, both being rather tough guys.
So, now to get you all together, Eboran needed a team for the bit about finding 'rare goods' and Shanesh and Roek seemed like a good choice, since he knew them relatively well.
Summing up, the three of you have been together on a mission only once before, this is the second time you team up.

A few odd bits: age for Eboran and Shanesh...

Ehm, I'll change your stats sometime later, Duncanus, I've got some hassle with my sliced finger, so that's the delay.
Does the team-up story sound cool to you, or have you got your own suggestions?

So, guys... Lemme ask you, how did you like the opening crawl and the introduction? :D
This is all only the introductory scene, meant to introduce you to the atmosphere, but we'll be seeing something more intense soon. Perhaps.
Also, you mustn't mind my typos, they'll happen from time to time, I just can't help it.

Another important thing is that Ork90 and Rulk haven't spoken here yet... I'm rather worried by that... So far we're in the early stage of the game, their presence is not crucial yet, but... we're closing to the point of no return, so to say, where introducing them will be increasingly difficult, without causing all sorts of akward things. If the situation doesn't change, I'm starting to look for replacements.

Garan, the check is enough to make the drive impromptu damaged. You can describe that in your IC post.

Pilot check for landing

I liked the crawl. And the pace is very cool as it gives us time to 'warm up' and set up a repitoire (sp?) with each other..

As for our compatriots... If they don't show/get replaced, we can probably muddle along (painfully).

Glad you like it. With the two of you, it should be easy to gain the 'buddies' feel rather quickly and in a natural way.
However, should we have someone more, I still have one or two pretty cool ways of introducing them.
I'll wait for Garan's IC post and then we'll propel the game forward a bit- though I probably won't be able to post neither tomorrow, nor on Tuesday.
Till then, then.

That is SO true and stylish is the word of the day. I guess your going to have the normal DR bonus, unless you're hit in the head (that would hurt those Antennapalps a bit, I guess).
I thought I had the hit locations rules somewhere, but maybe I was wrong, because I can't find them ATM. Any idea where they are?

Rulk, you intend anything special on the check-in (or rather check-out)? Because action waits for you all just outside those nice, guarded gates. Seriously, we're into business there. That of course, if you won't make me give you action INSIDE those gates, if you acquire my drift ;)

Okay, Garan, so your post comes BEFORE going out of the spaceport building, before the lil' boy came up to your group... Just a sec till I get the reply to your action done...

Edit: That's a safe Gather Info check - 25, skill mods, boni and all.

Ups. Sorry, I misunderstood something in your post, sorry for the hassle :/

Gather information roll 19+10=29

No, no. No problem, that was my bad and my hassle :D. I've just edited it. By the way, sorry for the perhaps misleading 'Peace Brigades' that I've put in place of 'Order Brigades'. Edited now, but I was using my notes in Polish, that's why I put the wrong term.
It's edited now, and the reply to your post is there and I hope everything is more or less (more, I hope) clear.

Rulk, Duncanus? I assume your characters are near the speeder as well, correct?

Also, I've been thinking that perhaps we should somehow notify others here whether we are away for a longer time, or just lingering somewhere out there, waiting for the action to develop... Because knowing that you are around, following the action, would allow me to push the action forward. Without being sure of you being around, I don't have the liberty to move forward, because I imagine you'd like to do some stuff before we go on.
I hope that's kind of clear. So, what say you?
