View Full Version : Conversion Requests? Post them here!

Hey everyone,

As you all know, SWRPGNetwork Conversions handles cross-system conversions of official stats. So, if there's something from WEG you'd like to see in d20 (or vice versa), let us know!

Requests may take a little while to get implemented, but putting them all on here will ensure that requests don't get lost ... and I can also remember who made which request first. :D

I don't know if you guys have done them already, but how about d20 versions of the species listed in the WEG Tales of the Jedi SB? Maybe even stuff from Alien Encounters that wasn't covered by AA?

I would love to see the various types of Jedi from Tales of the Jedi by WEG converted into Prestige Classes. I'm gonna sit down and try it myself, but I'd love to have someone do the work for me. ;) Right now I'm using the Jedi Healer and Jedi Battlemaster from here as a general idea.

bentleyml,
FULONGAMER did a conversion of the TotJ Jedi templates as prestige classes. They should be here, StarWars-RPG.net (http://www.starwars-rpg.net/journal/2001-01/3e-jedi.html).

The two that Moridin did are little different from what FULONGAMER did. They all should help ya' out.

Hello there. I'm looking to see any coversions back to D6 from The Darkside Book, The Rebellion Era Sourcebook, Alien Anthology, and Star Wars Gamer 5-7. Thanks.

Just so you know, there are several Jedi prestige classes expected from WotC over the next several months. We do have a couple of Jedi prestige classes (the Jedi Battlemaster (http://www.swrpgnetwork.com/entry.php?id=1016) and the Jedi Healer (http://www.swrpgnetwork.com/entry.php?id=1106) ) currently.

That being the case, I'm going to hold on any more Jedi prestige classes until after the Power of the Jedi sourcebook and related Star Wars Gamer issues come out. But, if any cool Jedi templates from the TotJ Sourcebook don't end up with an equivalent prestige class, I'll happily write those up.

I was just hoping to see some before then so my players would be able to set their goals since the characters are just being created this weekend. Oh well I can understand your logic. I'll have to hack my way through this. I've started work on the Jedi Mystic. If anyone wants to see what I've started drop me an email at hansolo@io.com.

Greetings!

I don't know if I'm just too dumb to search this site, but I can't find D6 stats for the Neimoidian species among the the TPM source material.

A conversion from their write-up in the D20 core rules would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance! :)

Rules for cybernetics from Craken's Rebel Field Guide and the Fantastic Tech guides would also be great!

Need conversions for ALL of the Emperor's Hands to D6... As well as High Inquisitor Tremayne and Lord Adalric Brandl for D20.

Frobi-Wan Kenobi

Tremayne stats in d20 may be found on page 101 of the DSSB.

Anyway, on to my request. Shards in d20.

I tried and failed. My head hurts after trying to figure out a way to convert them.

Thanks

Want a worse headache? Try converting Bilars.

Frobi-Wan Kenobi
7 November 2001, 10:25 PM
Bilars?

Never heard of them.

I got a real bad head when I converted a race from d6 that a guy made up. Then I posted in the d20 board and it got called munchkin. Take a look in the archive for Indonotions. I even put a link in the post so people could see the original.

I was trying to see how close I could get to the d6 without breaking any rules or creating a whole lot of new ones in d20.

I want to go into how this is the best site I've ever seen, I mean I check it as often as possible, but this isn't a place for that. Right? I'm afraid this sounds foolish, but do you think you could work out the d20 conversion for the Repulsorboard. I left a request on the Repulsorboard page, but so did someone else before me so I figured with the new page development and new information posts you didn't have that much time to go through and check the old pages. Then I found that the Holonet was working and thought I'd post my request here. I apologize if I should have waited longer for some kind of response. :(

being fairly new to the star wars roleplay scene, i would be intressed in almost any convertions. But i would love to see some from the Dark Empire sourcebook if it is related to the graphic novels and maybe some from the Crimson Empire if their is any thing from them in the D6 system. Failing that i would be happy with some darksiders, bounty hunters, or Imps.

I will warn you, however, that not every ship from Pirates and Privateers will show up that way. The reason is that many (if not most) of the P&P ships were originally from another source.

I usually entered whichever source I happened to open first ... sometimes that's P&P, sometimes it's something else. That being the case, you'll find some P&P ships listed under Stock Ships or Han Solo and the Corporate Sector or whatever.

Sorry about this. The system we use to enter stats won't let us list more than one source, so we generally just put whichever one we happened to look up first.

I was wondering if there are ever going to be stats created for the Tales of the Jedi series of books? I know that there are stats for members of the order like Exar Kun and Ulic-Qel-Qroma in the DSSB, but I want to see some of those Jedi who made legends like Nomi Sunrider and her daughter. For D20 stats for Nomi Sunrider and her ilk, I imagine you'll be able to find more than you can use in the Power of the Jedi sourcebook, when it comes out. For D6 stats, I think there was a Tales of the Jedi era sourcebook put out by WEG, but I don't play D6, so I don't know.

Although these were all previously requested, I'd like to re-request the stats for portable computers, as well as Eclipse and Sovereign.

Would it be possible to get a conversion of Palpatine's Create Force Storm (or do I have to wait for someone to tackle epic-level stuff?)?

I can't give you much conversion info for Create Force Storm (I don't understand the D20 system well enough) but I can tell you that the damage is measured in increments of D10x5 just like all other capital-scale weapons.

As for the Eclipse and Sovereign... Again, I don't understand the D20 system well, but here's what I know would convert...

Eclipse
Size: Colossal
Maximum Speed: Cruising
Shield Points: 1,130
Hull Points: 1,560
Axial Superlaser: ? (I suggest D10x100 per die, but that's just me... That'd yield a range of 1D10x100 to 8D10x100 depending on how long is spent charging up)
550 Heavy Laser Cannons: 8D10x5
500 Turbolaser Batteries: 5D10x2
75 Ion Cannons: ? (I don't know how D20 does ion cannons)
100 Tractor Beam Projectors: ? (ditto)
10 Gravity Well Projectors: ? (double ditto)

Sovereign
Size: Colossal
Maximum Speed: Cruising
Shield Points: 800
Hull Points: 1,100
Axial Superlaser: See Above
500 Heavy Laser Cannons: See Above
500 Turbolaser Batteries: See Above
75 Ion Cannons: See Above
100 Tractor Beam Projectors: See Above
5 Gravity Well Projectors: See Above

Not bad, but I have one suggestion.

The Rebellion Era Sourcebook did not give any stats for the superlaser on the Death Star (which the Axial superlaser on the Eclipse and the Sovereign was modeled after). The primary reason why is because in order to properly gauge, the amount of damage dealt by the superlaser would have to be enough to destroy a planet, and planets would have to be given wound points in response.

The writers thought it best to just use the weapon as a plot device, not give it any definable stats, and say that any capital ships that get in the way would not be able to stand up to it and be destroyed. Even though the Axial Superlaser is not strong enough to obliterate a planet, it can create a good-sized crack in one. IMHO, any capital ship that gets in the way of that weapon should be considered a write-off.

Kayle Skolaris
28 June 2002, 12:07 AM
Valid point, and I fully understand WotC's decision not to give stats for it. It's one of the few things I agree with them on. That having been said, sometimes it's nice to have some numbers to work with, even if it's just to scare the wee-wee out of the PCs with. I suggest using an idea from Palladium Books, a game company that makes, among other things, the Robotech game. For the Macross Cannons, damage is given in two different terms, one meant for ships and one meant for things bigger than mere ships (like planets). The Robotech game uses a point reduction system to track damage much like D20 does, they just use different terminology. For Macross cannons, anything with less than three million damage points is simply vapourised. Period. Only something with greater than three million damage points has a hope in hell of surviving an attack. A similar philosophy could work in regards to superlasers. Set the minimum damage for a superlaser at such an absurdly high level that nothing smaller than a 'Death Star Scale' structure can hope to survive superlaser bombardment. I still play D6, but I've even gone one step further and have two scales that go beyond Death Star!

Even if planets don't get wound points, if we ever get the stats on Planetary Shields (which, BTW, would be a great conversion to have!), we will need to know the capabilities of Superlasers.

I think Superlasers need a damage code, and it should provide roughly the same results as the old system. Kayle, any idea how your damage would correspond to the old system?

It should also be noted that you would not have to reduce a planet's wound points (if it would ever be assigned them) to 0 (e.g., Alderaan) to render it uninhabitable -- the biosystem is much more fragile than the actual planet. :)

Inhabitable planets such as Alderaan or Coruscant have between 10D and 20D Death Star Scale Structure Codes.

As to whether or not a tough Capship could survive a minimum-power shot, the answer is yes. Indeed, to destroy a vessel such as the Eclipse with a superlaser would require an average charge of 14D-15D using Revised and Expanded rules (yet another reason why those rules SUCK!!!) and an average charge of between 8D-9D! Mind you, the Eclipse's own superlaser has a maximum charge of only 8D and the Death Stars can generate a maximum charge of 16D! Fear the Eclipse, children!

The Patricia Jackson's Adventure Journal saga would be nice, Thaddeus Ross and Kierra.
I'm also after a prestige class for my character becoming an assassin if anybody can point me in the right direction please

I plan on getting the guide book but I don't have the money to do so. I want to be ready so when my roleplaying site is fully functional, I will be able to help in both systems. The Original Core Rulebook had conversion guidelines for converting D6 characters to D20. They also posted them on the WotC site and they can be found here (http://www.wizards.com/starwars/article.asp?x=rpg_conversion)

Then you need to go here (http://mi.wizards.com/starwars/downloads/revised_characters.pdf) to update to the Revised Core Rules. You will need Adobe Acrobat to read the second file, but you can get that from WotC too.

Neither of these guides allows you to convert your character without the CR, but its a start

Regarding lightsaber creation rules, Moridin has already posted the Net.Guide to Lightsaber Construction (http://www.swrpgnetwork.com/entry.php?id=588) in both D6 and d20 formats.

As for the rest of the netbook, where is it located? Is any of that material covered in Power of the Jedi?

Not to switch gears away from the Jedi TOO drastically, but....

I'll be running some new d20 folks through an older d6 adventure: Secrets of the Sisar Run.

It would be great if you could help out by converting some of the major NPCs to d20. I'm getting a handle on eyeballing vehicles, equipment, and starships and getting a pretty close approximation. But I'm still in the dark about whipping up a mid to high level character accurately.

I'll muddle through it just fine, I suppose, but any help from my heroes over at Conversions would make things just SO much better!

Thanks.

The senator- Class Shuttle is rapidly becoming a familiar sight in Imperial held systems. Designed as a luxury shuttle for high-ranking Imperial civilians and Military officials, that doesn't like to be subjected to the harshness of standard military transport. Once you step inside the shuttle you sink into a feeling of comfort and warmth; large comfortable seating, and small but luxurious quarters quickly spoil all but the most rotten passengers. Sleek, angular and elegant the Senator is shaped like a Diamond with the rear point chopped off and drive nozzles installed. The Senator was one of Siiva Space Works most successful Imperial contracts, SSW is producing the shuttles as fast they can, as the demand for them is high.

I've got all the WEG books and all the D20 books..... but I want something faster and simpler. I'm going to try converting Star Wars to Gurps 4ed. I've gone over the basics of the conversions and I think it'll work out exceedingly well. The classic era will be easy, as there are no full-fledge Jedi aside from those in the movies and none of my players want to go in that direction. The more technical portions of Gurps (which are optional anyway) will be left out as to better have that quick, cinematic feel I'm looking for. They've even got an optional rule that is very similar to WEG's character point rules for aiding rolls.
It's all just a whilrwind in my head right now, but hopefully I'll have some spare time soon to get things hashed out.
Anyone else thought of trying this? I wanted to do it with the old Gurps system, but it just didn't feel right. This one does though. Wish me luck............

I finally found d6 stats for it, can someone convert this. My character pilots one of these babies. Could I get some custom concussion missles added to mine with a section saying custom added so that others can use the stat with or without. Don't need too many and it should slow down the ship a tad bit based on the weight I guess but maybe not enough to make a noticable difference. I hope this is as comparable to an X-Wing as the books made it out to be. I always got the impression with the TIE engines AND the X-Wing engines(that powered the hyperdrive) it could be faster than an X-Wing but not quite as fast as an A-Wing. But using those other engines would limit hyperdrive usage. Anyway, if someone can help me out I'd really appreciate it.

CHIR’DAKI (DEATHSEEDS)

This starfighter design was created by the Twi'leki race, and was named after the spore of a parasitic fungus. They are just as lethal as the deathseed spore they are named for. Hyperdrive-equipped and powered by twin ion engines at sublight speeds, the Chir'daki have maneuverable wings powered by small S-foils. They are armed with four laser cannons, but proton torpedoes were optional because of their shortage during the early years of the New Republic.

That one and had referenced them when someone asked about it in the forums a couple years ago. The person looking didn't try very hard to get them at the time and I just snagged em from the site. Here's the original post.

Wow, you are the man!!! No matter what they all say I'll never believe it again. I was happy to see you posted earlier today saying you'd get to it soon, I had no idea you'd get to it this soon. Thanks man. By the way, have you read about them in the X-wing series? Do you think it matches up to how it's described in the books or at least in that description, because it's supposed to be the best ugly comparable to the X-Wing in combat and manueverability and such. What do you think? Not real good with the stats yet to know.

Rostek
28 April 2005, 11:51 AM
I sure have read them- some of the best EU works, especially the Blackmoon-Thyferra series.
The Deathseeds strike me as being X-Wing like, with the exception of a lower armerment value and (by the model C which the Rogues, IIRC are flying) somewhat weaker in the hull because of the necessary comprimises in making the engineering work.
It also probably requires a bit more skilled of a pilot to properly fly the thing (since the X is a very forgiving craft) just like the Bwing becuase of the collar.
As for uglies in general- you can make an ugly comprable to an average fighter craft- all it requires is a bit more of an engineering plan than "weld these engine nacelles onto the TIE ball". The Corellian X-TIE comes to mind (from the Starbuster Incident series).

DarionA'res

What is this x-tie starbuster incident you speak of? Never heard of it, and I'm into all the Uglies and all starfighters info I can get. I also forget if the Chir'daki's pilots have to wear Tie flight suits. If I recall correctly they do. THey did not modify the life support systems of Tie ball if I recall correctly and also, I remember the engines on the tie ball where still there on top of the xwing sfoils that rotate around the ball, which means it has 2 sets of engines mind you the sfoils are primarily to power the hyperdrive there as well but they recharge and you could use both sets of engines in theory for more speed if you don't need to use the hyperdrive anytime soon. Just something I've been tossinga round in my head for roleplaying and writing purposes what ya think Rostek?

Convert the Arakyd Helix [ post #1 ]

Sombody (That have time to do it) should realy convert the Helix this baby from D6 system IS one of the most fun ship ever.

The Arakyd Helix is a ship loved by my players and by me the Game master.
I just love the backround of the ship If i remember it was somthing like this..
Arakyd manage to trick bribe or fool the Empire starship regulation to classified the Helix as a light transport and they sold as many as they possible could then the Navy started compain that the Helix hade more weapon and heavier shield then many military ship and was sold as a TRANSPORT.

Of course Arakyd said they where sorry and stoped selling the Helix but to many where sold already..

(That background fact is copied from MY Memory and my Memory is not a Good memory but the only memory i have )

Sadly i dont have the D6 numbers right now so i am unable to translate it my self to D20..

But it realy a ship that should be translated.
I manage to find a link to a picture of the buty..

Helix Helix link (http://www.colonialchrome.co.uk/Helix.htm)

I can't convert but I'm checking to see if someone already has for you. I have found several instances of the d6 stats though.

I'd like to see d6 stats for Vilmarh Grahrk and Anja Gallandro.

Plus, Zayne and company from the "KOTR: Commencement" series too if it's possible.

I only know of one Gallandro, the gunslinger from the original Han Solo novels. Is this the same person as this 'Anja Gallandro'?

Tramp
8 August 2006, 12:03 PM
Nope. Anja is Gallandro’s daugher. She was introduced in YJK: Return to Ord Mantell.

Did you miss the bit about "YJK"? :P
Not really, though one of Anderson's more interesting characters-- save for the lightsaber she could have seemed a little less uber upon creation and therefore a bit more accessable. But that's just me.

DarionA'res
8 August 2006, 01:34 PM
Give me some time to get a copy of that book and I'll throw something together. I have all the YJK up to Shards of Alderaan I believe, though I haven't read that. I only read the first big story arc then I put it down and I have not bought the ones past Shards for that reason. With enough info I can stat her for ya though if you like?

Kind of a long request, but I'll try to start small. I was wondering if anyone had done d20 to d6 conversions for the stats given for several minatures on the Wizards of the Coast site. The one I am really interested in is the Basilisk war droid found here. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=starwars/article/BHPreview2) Though I would be pleased to see any conversions, there are back issues in the archives section. Or is there someone already working on those? Thanks.

I still keep an eye on this thread. I just have a number of irons in the fire, so it may be a while before I respond with any results.

Anyone got the stats on the Arc Hammer? I thought I had seen them converted somewhere but not sure. Mainly some of the general cargo capacity since it was a mobile factory and not a warship.

Wookiepedia says that it is about 9 1/2 km long so it is up there in size.

How about the Virago? Or even the base class Star VIper-class by MandalMoters? I haven't seen any stats at all.

Gratzi.

Just wondering if there are still conversions going on ;)
If there is anyone out there that has the Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook and can get the d6 Stats for the Epicanthix converted to d20 I would greatly appreciate it.
Can someone just go ahead and convert all the books and post them on the holonet.... no.. I guess I had to try ;)

The folks doing the Mandalorian Sourcebook had a rendition of the StarViper in d20. Thanks to them.

Funny, I wouldn't mind seeing a SAGA to D6 conversion guide. I've been reading through the Saga Edition and I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out how you would do a lot of the character conversion.

Hey Sarli,
I know you guys haven't heard from me in a long while, but what happened to all the DLOS Conversion Stats? Does someone have them stored somewhere? Myself and others worked very hard on those and had some original material in there too, I'd hate to see all that go to waste. Just wondering...

I haven't been sure on who I should talk to, but I guess I should be either lucky, or cursed, but I did print out some of the vehicles, capital ships, from DLOS website before it went away. I don't have the stuff actually saved on my computer, but the vehicles and ships I found interesting there I printed off and have saved up in nice file folders.

It wouldn't be right for me to repost all that stuff on here, since you guys were the ones that created it through your own creativity and diligence. I guess I just happened to be lucky to have printed that stuff when I had the chance to and in a way did preserve some of it...

Humbly,

Hey all. I'm looking to get D6 stats for the Gozanti Cruiser (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gozanti_Cruiser). It's found in the SECR Starships of the Galaxy sourcebook. If somebody could help me with that, I'd be much obliged.

I take it you have the D6 modules and just need characters/ships/etc re-statted into Saga profiles? If so then I might be able to do some for you.

Okay, I have Otherspace II: Invasion and can convert the character/NPC stats from there to Saga for you...but what CL are you looking for? I don't want to stat up some Charon too high for your PCs ;)

I have both Otherspace and Otherspace II.

Average level is 15. They are veteran players who are very good at tactics, so it's unlikely they are going to find much that is too tough for them.
