Call me old school if you must, but I prefer using honest-to-goodness metal minis at the gaming table. However, there's not as many sci-fi minis out there as fantasy ones, and even less Star Wars specific stuff. So I do what any miniature aficionado would do--I convert existing minis.

I have a couple of modest examples.

Jedi Chick and Twi'lek Mechanic 1 (http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4081/4737239024_19519125d2_b.jpg)

The Jedi is originally from RAFM's USX Modern Heroes line (Hanna, Survivor). She was originally holding a revolver, but cut it off and made a lightsaber out of epoxy.

The Twi'lek is my current character in a Saga Edition campaign. She started out as the Reaper Chronoscope line's Rosie, Chronotechnician. I filed off the hair and made lekku, again out of epoxy. I must say it is very difficult getting that stuff thin enough to use properly.

I'm planning other conversions, most notably Jedi, using colored acrylic rods for lightsaber blades. :D

That's some nice modelling there.

Despite starting with 40K now I'm not good at conversions. I struggle with remodelling plactic figures, I'd have no chance with metal ones :D
