Capsule: With the increase of Rebel convoy raiding, the Empire put out a request for a new escort vessel to all major starship manufacturers. While the Empire already had the Corellian Corvette and the Nebulon-B Frigate; they wanted a faster ship that could both pursue rebel/pirate ships and also provide an anti-starfighter screen. Since the rise of the Empire several dozen different designs were used in one or both roles, mainly of local sector manufacture, but now the Imperial Admiralty were looking for one standard craft for use through the entire Empire.
Many of the large starfighter manufacturers submitted their designs for the Admiralty’s approval: KDY, CEC, Nova Shipworks, but it was Seniar’s Epsilon-class Destroyer that was chosen. The Epsilon is a fast ship, able to keep up with many starfighter and even the Carrack-class cruiser. The ship boasts a class one hyperdrive unit, which allows it to jump ahead of convoys to engage with any pirate or rebel ambush that might have been set up. The Epsilon’s weapons package is also formable with ten turbolaser cannons for long range and 8 concussion missile launcher for short-range attacking power(4 missiles are carried for each tube for a total of 32 missiles). Rounding out the Epsilon’s armaments are twenty laser cannons for anti-starfighter protection.
The Empire put in its first order 3 months after the Battle of Yavin, and in less than year they became a common site in both the Core and Colonies regions. By the Battle of Endor they were common in both convoy escorts and combat units through out the Imperial Navy. One such formation was the 273rd Independent Pursuit Line, which was made entirely of Epsilon destroyers. Formed a year after Yavin, they scored an impressive kill recorded of 30 enemy capital ships and over 200 starfighters before the unit’s destruction two years post Endor.

Looks pretty good, Lokar. I particularly like the detailed description. I might call it just a little too advanced for such a (relatively) small, high-production ship, but that's being pretty picky.

Again, nice capsule, good concept, and pretty well-balanced stats.

Nice ship Lokar. Couple of points though.

The Quad Laser Cannons have no Fire Control. IMO I would like to see the Concusson Missiles have a much better range. It would give it a bit of advantage if it came up against something bigger than it because of the damage they can cause.

The final one is, because it is an escort ship, why no hanger bays for maybe a squadron of fighters :)

Apart from that looks good.

I like it! Nice background, balanced stats! I also like SFS as designer. Capital ships of SFS are rare, but of high quality and unique design!

... Um, okay, I noticed one thing. ;) You say the ship has 64 gunners. Substracting those for Turbolasers and missiles, there are 28 gunners left. The only constellation I figured out how to use 28 gunners for 20 guns is: 2 gunners each for the front abd back cannons, and 1 gunner each for the turret-mounted ones. :)

Cool ship!
