View Full Version : Help with Character Background development

Hello all,
Just returned to roleplaying after a long hiatus, and I am glad to be back. I have jumped into the GM seat for the first time with a couple of new to roleplaying players. They really enjoyed the first mini adventure I ran them through and are ready for a bit more indepth campaign. I have some great ideas, however I want ti be able to develop a few hooks coming from their characters background. I know my players can come up with good backgrounds, but I would like to give them as much help as possible. I seen some mention of backgroud questionnaires, but no links to them. If anybody has any reall good background provoking questions or a link to a questionaire I would certainly appreciate it.

Thanks for any help you all can provide.

This should help them immensely. The link I got from someone else who posted it in another forum here.

I once downloaded character questionnaire from Roleplaying Tips (http://www.roleplayingtips.com). I can't find the link, so I've attached the file. They also have another article on building better characters, which can be found here (http://www.roleplayingtips.com/issue126.html).

Hope this helps.

FYI, the hyperlink two posts up *does* work, it just was incomplete. If you copy and paste it (or just click here (http://www.umich.edu/~hansene/swrpg/interview-sheet.html)), it should work.

I think it's a really good document for character backgrounds. Of course, I'm biased since it's mine. ;-) Best of luck.
