In the new guide to characters there is a referance to the planets of the shell hutts. Who are these chreatures. are they cousins to hutts or are the shell's a type of technology used as support and armor. Is their planet the place of origin for the hutts or did they leave the mutual home world at the same time. Are they an entirely different race with minmal similarities or are they just hutts with shells? What kind of shells? Snail, turtle, ect... Are they know in the galaxy or relatively secret?

Any and all info is much appreciated.

Hey

The shell hutts come from the bounty hunter wars trilogy by KW Jeter. As I remember they're more paranoid than your average hutt, and they they live in a higher radiation zone.
So they where these suits of armor, that almost read like hutt power armor; they're completly enclosed, have bult in repulsors, weapons, ect.
They don't live in the nal hutta system, but elsewhere, but it was never clear whether they're system, its name escapes me, is in hutt space or not.
Hope that helps

The Shell Hutts appeared in the first novel of the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy. They were a 'family' (sub-race?) of Hutts living on Circumtore that had taken to living in repulsorlift-equipped and heavily armed shells. Essentially Hutts in power-armor.
