I was wondering if anyone else out there is using the Decipher CCG cards instead of miniatures. By the time I buy the books, my wallet is pretty empty. I've opted to using my collection of cards instead. The Premiere set has all the stormtroupers you could want, Jabba's Palace has tons of aliens. Various other sets have a wide assortment of characters and character types.: TIE fighter pilots, Rebel Pilots, etc. Obviously these are only for one era but the aliens can be used in other eras if they are non-specific.

Hey, that's a really good idea!

I was lucky enough to buy a boatload of WEG minis when they were still commonplace, and I've always enjoyed painting them and using them in my game. But if I didn't have them, I'd probably take your suggestion and go the card route (I have barrels of those, too!).

So, how do you scale your battles - what sort of grid is used?
