I found these two in a 2nd draft script for Revenge - err I mean Return of the Jedi. They were during the Spirit Ben scene in Dagobah. Now I do not have my paper copies of the scrip here, these I found years ago on the intranet. Seeing as how that is not the most reliable of sources take 'em with a grain of salt, but the rest of the script looks good to me. Any way they are all four food for thought, some of them dealing with the force, and some with Kenobi's past (even though that part is obviously different then what we see in EP2)

<B>BEN</B>
When I first knew him, your father was
already a great pilot. But I was amazed how
strongly the Force was with him. I took it
upon myself to train him as a Jedi. I
thought that I could instruct him just as
well as Yoda. I was wrong. My pride has
had terrible consequences for the galaxy.

<B>BEN</B>
Vader humbled you when first you met him,
Luke...but that experience was part of your
training. It taught you, among other things,
the value of patience. Had you not been so
impatient to defeat Vader then, you could
have finished your training here with Yoda.
You would have been prepared.

<B>BEN</B>
To be a Jedi, Luke, you must confront and
then go beyond the dark side - the side your
father couldn't get past. Impatience is
the easiest door - for you, like your father.
Only, your father was seduced by what he
found on the other side of the door, and you
have held firm. You're no longer so reckless
now, Luke. You are strong and patient. And
now, you must face Darth Vader again!

<B>BEN (continuing his narrative)</B>
When your father left, he didn't know your
mother was pregnant. Your mother and I knew
he would find out eventually, but we wanted
to keep you both as safe as possible, for as
long as possible. So I took you to live with
my brother Owen on Tatooine... and your mother
took Leia to live as the daughter of Senator
Organa, on Alderaan.

The only one that appeared in the film was the first one - and the filmed version didn't include the "My pride..." last line. I can't speak for the veracity of the others.

I think the other ones were in the printed version of the movie.

And from Ep. 2 we see how much that last one holds up.

Yeah, my book-version of ESB mentions Owen as Ben`s bro...
since OB1 is still supposedly from Tatooine (?), it`s a shame they dropped the relationship...

I like the third one in particular - I think it answers some of the questions that the NJO has brought up.

<font face="Humanst521 Lt BT">If I remember correctly, that last quote, at least, was also included in the RotJ radio drama. It mentions that Owen is Ben's brother, at the very least.</font>

I believe that the Owen Lars card from the Decipher Card Game also mentions him as Ben's brother.

but you must remember the hierarchy of Cannon:1) Movies overide everything else. 2) Novelization of the movies override radio dramas. 3)Radio dramas override EU, which isn't cannon

Love how everything fits together so well, Star Wars is such a well written story, you'd think it was by stephen king or something.--Arcome
