E-5 Advanced Battle Droid

After their failings at the Battle of Naboo became readily apparent, the older models of centrally-controlled battle droids quickly went out of production. Despite huge financial losses, Baktoid Combat Automata simply remodeled their battle droids, and used their existing manufacturing facilities to begin producing their new, improved E-5 model. The E-5 was given its own droid brain, making it a fully independant operating mechanical soldier. No longer did the Battle Droids need to relay information and commands to a remote computer system, improving their accuracy with the blaster and allowing them to react quicker to apparent threats. Additionally, the modular programming arrays used in older models of the battle droid were fully compatible with the E-5, as well as new software packages which could be placed in entire groups of droids at once - at additional charge, or course. Unfortunately, this also tripled the cost of production, so no longer were these weapons of destruction available as a feasible means of raising a massive army.
