• The Darkest Night

    The Darkest Night, formerly the Gallant Night, is Lyrr's personal transport and home base of operations. The ship is a heavily modified Corellian YT-2400 Light Freighter, and bears only the smallest resemblance to the actual production model. The atmosphere generated inside the ship is very similar to that of Uba IV, with special air filters producing a Type II atmosphere. Only in his ship does Lyrr ever take off his armor and breath mask. However, the brig of the ship, where he keeps his prisoners, is Type I breathable, allowing for the fact that the majority of his prisoners will be from Type I planets. The "brig" is actually one of the ship's two cargo bays, converted so as to transport prisoners with a minimal amount of difficulty. The cargo bay opens directly out of the ship which is accessed via a short ramp, and this is the only way in or out of the ship. Lyrr made sure that all the other hatches leading to the outside of the ship were sealed up completely, so as not to allow the atmosphere of his ship to escape, or any of the "toxic fumes" of a Type I atmosphere to enter.

    Within the ship, a variety of electronics and technologies can be found scattered about the interior. Like all Ubese, Lyrr has gathered a rather motley collection of random electronics, most of which have been taken apart and tinkered with. There are, however, some things which Lyrr takes seriously, and which he takes only the finest care in repairing. For instance, the droid intelligence which inhabits the ship is a vital asset which he has learned to utilize in any way possible. Originally, the Gallant Night had a droid intelligence programmed in to handle the deep exploration trips the ship often made. On a routine basis, the Gallant Night's intelligence would handle astrogation, data storage, communications, and also assist in repair and operation of the ship itself. When Lyrr discovered it, his first impulse was to have it removed from the ship altogether, but he soon came to realize the value it had in running a ship of this size, and instead had its memory wiped and reprogrammed it to assist in bounty hunting rather than exploration.

    Also inside the ship is a set of motion sensors, rigged to detect anything that passes through the plane between the entrance ramp and the brig. When an unauthorized person enters the ship, an alarm beeps in Lyrr's helmet (or, if he has his helmet off, quietly over the speaker). The cages in which the prisoners are held are the standard Damoring Securities RPC-12 Restraint Capsules (see Galaxy Guide 10: Bounty Hunters for more information). The Darkest Night, while a far cry from being the most advanced ship on the market, is one which those with bounties on their heads should be wary of.
