Note, my group plays in two settings-one being the "Grand Theft Bebop" and the other is well, just as interesting. Here is our ship from the non-GTB games.
The "Highwind"
On paper, "The Highwind is a Q-Ship belonging to the Alliance to Restore the Republic's Investigative Division of the General Affairs Department" is known as the "RAS Highwind" when in fact, it is a privately owned heavily modified Xiyitar-class Transport which is owned by the privateer captain Gene Starwind (a good friend of Captain Crystal Lox). Captain Starwind first
came into contact with this ship when it was fresh off the assembly line and still in it's stock condition. Gene was currently in the market for a new ship after the smuggler Rik Duel stole his ship, the "Strahl" (now known as the "Moonshadow"), when the smuggler needed a quick way off of Ralltiir.
Side Note: despite Imperial Records and Duel's own boasting, the ship now known as the "Moonshadow" was in fact the Smuggler ship "Strahl" and not the "Splendid IX" as originally
thought.
After managing to obtain the stock ship, Gene slowly went about converting it into something better with the help of the Scorpian Fleet Shipyards which was a branch of the CEC shipyards that went "missing" during the Clone Wars and had become a kind of "Shadowport" and the future "Highwind" lost it's stock status and soon became a Q-Ship for the Rebel Alliance.
Starwind and the "Highwind" came to be apart of (Baron) Captain Callum Gideon's "Avalanche" group of rebel operatives which included former Imperial TIE Fighter pilot Marcus Slayton, Engineer Kaylee Frye, Raw Weber, Corran Rex, James Mitchell, Rex Hall, Elim Sivek, Peter Shaw, Rigel, Daylon Naberi, Tigh and Bojay the Ewok fighter pilot. The group had a number of mis-adventures
including a number in the Tapani Sector.
Following the end of Gideon's mis-adventure which lead him to become the new Baron Hejaran, the "Highwind" gained the transponder which marked her as the "Anchorage" and the personal transport
of Baron Callum Hejaran.
As a Q-Ship, the Highwind is equipped with a number of systems that allows it to hide it's weapon systems through a series of carefully hidden hatches which slide open to reveal the weapon systems and the ship also includes a hanger bay for the "Vigilantes" squadron which fly stolen/bought TIE Fighters and Interceptors.
If you insult the Highwind in Captain Starwind's presence, that is grounds for a beating.
