I have a new prediction that I want to put out there:

Ben will be reassigned to Jaina (once she's elevated to Master status)...

Jacen will be expelled from the Jedi Order.

Is there a rule somewhere that you can't train your own children?

So why aren't Mara and Luke considering training Ben? Is it because they'd like him to get a bit of a wider and more varied training?

It could be that the Grand Master and his first lady don't want to spoil him...i dunno. I can picture it as a personal choice on their behalf. Let Ben learn from someone else, expand his knowledge and his point of views. I mean Ben will always have Luke/Mara's views available at any time o him, but he can only be trainned once.

If you remember, Ben has always been turned off to Luke and Mara with regard to the Force. It was Jacen who nurtured Ben's latent Force abilities beginning way back in The Joiner King.

Thus, Ben has only been comfortable being a Jedi under the tutelage of his older cousin.

Luke and Mara lost their chance to train Ben "properly" a long time ago. The kid's a teenager now.

A good point, Nova Spice. Still, there is a hope in me that he won't cut himself off completely from his parents. If Bloodlines is any indication, he still feels comfortable enough to go to them for help.

I agree. Near the end of Bloodlines, Ben confides in his parents that he did something terrible, and I think that Ben will open up to them and tell them about what Jacen did during the interrogation, and that is the basis for my prediction that Jacen will be banished from the JO.

Whoa! Now that is an interesting thought!
Hopefully with the third RC novel out next year we might get confirmation...

Who is Darman and who is Etain Tur-Mukan?

I haven't read any of the RC novels, so don't bring that up....

They are pivotal characters in the Republic Commando books, but since you don't want those mentioned, forget I said anything.

One of the main reasons why I haven't read them is because money is tight, and I have to pick which novels I can get..... (although I have at least 80 - 90% of all the SW novels currently published).
