    Question before I begin:
What exactly is considered when you say Safety? Do you mean shields and such, or escape pods and the like? Just need a clarification before I start.

All of them, the ships overall saftey.
EG No escape pod, no shields, slow engines, and weak hull would give you a 1.

    Special: 2 Escape Pods.

    Description:

Staklowe Starships was created during the time of the Empire, in response to the growing number of people needing to travel safely across the spacelanes without the fear of pirate attack. After multiple attempts, Staklowe was able to produce a cheap, easily customizable, yet safe light freighter that would be focused primarily towards families looking for a way to easily get away from the busy, everyday life, and go to some distant planet for vacation. It is easy for families to purchase at 120k credits, and is a trustworthy investment. The FM198 has room for larger families, but is also able to carry lots of cargo for long trips. It is also perfect for traders and/or smugglers, for it is easy to remove the area for extra passengers and convert it into cargo space. It also sports two light laser cannons on turrets, but is also able to be modified to carry heavier weapons.

The FM198 is also extremely fast for its class. Able to keep pace with some starfighters, it is a very good choice for those who need to get away from threats, or those who don't feel comfortable with weapons. It has medium strength shields and structure, not the strongest, but pretty strong compared to other freighters. The hyperdrive on the ship is not the fastest, but its gets the job done at x3. It can go on fairly long trips, with enough food to last for two months. The FM198 is easy to operate also, for it only needs 3 people to run all systems, because of its streamlined system organization.

All in all, the Staklowe FM198 is a good choice for anyone wishing to get away from daily life for a cheap price, and travel with peace of mind.

Default Republic Sienar Systems SX-4 Light Transport

    Long-time lurker, first-time poster...

Republic Sienar Systems SX-4 Light Transport

Class: Space Transport Crew: 1 or 2 (skilled, +4) Size: Small (45m) Initiative: +5 (+1 size, +4 crew) Hyperdrive: x1.5 (x10 backup) Manuver: +8 (+1 size, +4 crew, +3 thrusters) Passengers: 20 Defense: 21 (+1 size, +10 armor) Consumables: 1 year Shield Points: 120 (DR 10) Cargo: 100 metric tons Hull Points: 120 (DR 10) Cost: 227,000 credits (new) Max speed in space: Ramming (11 sq./action)
    Max speed in atmosphere: 900 km/h (15 sq./action)

    Description

Built by Republic Sienar Systems some 1,000 years prior to the rise of the Empire, the SX-4 was designed as a luxury transport, intended for corporate CEOs, powerful politicians and the like. However, they gained fame as "Jedi cruisers" when the Order purchased a small flotilla of them and had them redesigned to serve its purposes. Several were transformed into spaceborne negotiation rooms, where Jedi Consulars could mediate disputes in a secure, neutral space; others were converted into traveling testing centers which the academies could use to search out force-sensitives to be recruited into the Order; still more were made into relief ships, capable of transporting aid and observers to planets suffering from disasters or the ravages of war.

Wholly lacking in armanents, SX-4s not owned and operated by the Jedi Council rarely leave the safety of the Core Worlds. Outside of the Core, Jedi cruisers relied on the prestige and reputation of the Order to protect their vessels. With a competent pilot, however, an SX-4 is generally fast and manuverable enough to evade most dangers, while its heavy shields permit it to withstand a few hits from starfighter weapons.

The prices above reflect a stock SX-4. A private owner would generally spend several hundred thousand or even upwards of a million credits in decking out and customizing their ship.

Default Score for the Republic Sienar Systems SX-4 Light Transport

Safety 9/10 Lando: This thing can take a pounding, and keep moving. Vader: I find the lack of Guns DISTURBING.
Cost 6/10 Han: For an unarmed ship, it's really expensive, most civilians wouldn't want it.
Topic 7/10 Yoda: Appreciate It's service to the order I do. But designed It wasn't as a Cargo Hauler.
Description 9/10 R2-D2 Beep Beep woop beep (good description)
Weapons 1/5 Han: There aren't any. Yoda: Always offence, bad it can be.
Legality 5/5 C-3PO: It meets all rules and Regs. Han: Sithspit, and I was goona buy one. C-3PO: I doubt it would meet them once you got through with it. Han: SHUT UP GOLDENROD!!!!!!!!
Realism 5/5 Obi wan:I've seen this in museum's!!! What do you mean it was just created?!?!
Origanality 10/10 Han: I've never seen any thing like it. Boba: Thats cuz you use your eyes. *Blaster fight commences*
Overall 42/55 OR 76.36 repeating% Han: A solid ship, but not really a true friegter, despite it's shields and speed, Pirates/ the empire could still take it out, Sutlety and stealth are all good and fine, but for a lasting impession, use a blaster!!!

    Default Nebula EN3 Transport

    Nebula
    Craft: Koensayr's EN3 Transport; Class: Space transport; Cost: 193,000 (new), 100,000 (used); Size: Small (48m length); Initiative: +1 (+1 size); Crew: 1 (Unique); Passengers: 9; Cargo Capacity: 180 Metric tons; Consumables: 1 Month; Hyperdrive: x2 (backup x6); Maximum Speed: Attack (Average, 8 squares/action); Atmospheric Speed: 800 km/h (13 squares/action); Maneuvers: +1 (+1 size); Defense: 21 (+1 size, +10 armor); Hull Points: 150 (DR 20); Shield Points:60 (DR 20).
Weapon: Laser Cannon [Quad, Escort] (2); Fire Arc: Any; Attack Bonus: +3 (+1 size, +2 fire control); Damage: 4d10x2; Range Modifiers: PB -2, S/M +0, L N/A.
Note: 1 escape pod, seats 6 comfortably, 10 uncomfortably

Description: The Nebula EN3 Transport is a little known Koensayr design from before the Clone Wars, which proved a bit more expensive than such market leaders as the YT1300 or the Barloz Medium Freighter. The Nebula didn’t even garner recognition as the highly popular Citadel Cruiser. The Nebula EN3 Transport was geared for short cargo runs on established trade routes, built with a large cargo capacity and a top of the line hyperdrive for its class, it just didn’t sell in any significant quantities. The director of the program blamed the terrible marketing strategy, but would later resign from Koensayr to enter a drug rehabilitation program following a particularly public and ugly divorce. Before the limited production run ended, several of these spacecraft made their way into Hutt control, usually for slavers; the starship allowed for transport of a small raiding party with an ample cargo hold easily modified to hold living sentients, exotic creatures and other contraband material.

The starship is cylindrical shaped, with a deep belly as its cargo hold. The cockpit however, rested near the stern with easy access to the engines, with starboard and port side escort blaster cannons for protection. Many slavers also installed an ion cannon and tractor beam in the bow to overcome civilian vessels by stripping out its outdated sensor cluster (these versions of the Nebula halve the standard sensor bonus when in scan mode).

NOTE: Who'd have thought someone would want to try this thread topic again?

EDIT: Oops! I must have had "insert" on when putting in the forum code for bold- it was made with 60 shield points.

Safety 9/10 Yoda: Missing an entery for shields it is. Jabba: Minions are expendable, if I need more, i go to the villian challenge .
Cost 8/10 Han: Almost twice as much as a YT-1300, but then, you get almost twice as much.
Topic 9/10 Vader: Had I turned smuggler, I would have bought this ship.
Description 10/10 Yoda: Only one to include a physical description, he is. C-3PO: Yes, from his description there is a 76% chance that Sentients will be able to visualise it.
Weapons 5/5 Han: NOW WE'RE TALKING!!! THE BEST ARMeNT SO FAR!!!
Legality 2/5 C-3PO: I'm afraid this violates several weapons regulations.
Realism 5/5 Chewie: GROWL BARK GRRRR YIP. Han: I know old buddy, you don't like slavers, but this ships feels like its from our galaxy.
    Origanality 10/10 Yoda: Seen anything like this before I haven't, a Trader/Slaver/Smuggler.

I seme to recall the only limit in the previous challenge-and the villain challenge-being how many you could create. Of course, tohse who put little or no effort into their entries were dutifully scored. Err...flunked.

Having just done about half a dozen different searches and search methods looking for the original Starship Challenge thread, I believe that I can safely but unfortunately say that somebody deleted the original thread.

Which is a shame, because I once read the original thing, all the way through, and it was a really good read. Anyone got it saved to their compy?

Well sadly PsychoInfiltrator is right. The original thread ID was http://holonet.swrpgnetwork.com/show...ship+engineers but somehow it was deleted.

I'm one of the lucky few who've saved his copy to his computer.
