    Exactly right. Just like D6 Space.

    Do you run into issues with the flat modifier reducing or eliminating "lucky shot" results on Wild dice?

    No more so than the dilution that occurs from rolling a lot of dice using the Bonus Dice method of scales.

    The Wild Die still comes into play and can add or subtract from the total, but it isn't quite as significant of an effect as it would be with little or no scale difference. Just as adding a dice or two or subtracting a dice with you're rolling significantly more dice.

    You cannot dodge it if you don't know it is coming, and you cannot shoot at what you don't know is there!

    First off, there's only 2D difference between Speeder and Walker in Star Wars. So the 1D in between becomes the new scale (APC). Thus, it makes things like Speeder Tanks a little more potent than just typical speeders, and it could allow a slightly weaker form of the AT-ST instead of being at the same scale as the AT-AT.

    Secondly, are you inferring that the SSD, which would be ranked in the Battleship/Dreadnought scale, would only be a couple of dice larger than a typical ISD? Basically I split the difference between the Capital Scale in Star Wars and the Death Star scale in Star Wars.

    In essence, I worked with the scale system used in Star Wars, and inserted some variable scales in between to make things work better overall. Thus certain ships like the Corellian Corvette and the Lancer Frigate would be in the Escort scale for hull and shields, but would have varying types of weaponry on them.

    I go with even 4D steps and use the following (with Static Modifiers genned up using the 2D=7 rule of thumb):
    Character = 0D
    Speeder = +4D (+14)
    Starfighter / Walker = +8D (+28)
    Escort = +12D (+42)
    Capital Ship = +16D (+56)
    Dreadnought = +20D (+70)
    Death Star = +24D (+84)

    I've also shifted the scale designations on several stats to match. For example, in the Imperial Sourcebook, I've changed the Compact Assault Vehicle, the Mobile Command Base, the Chariot Command Speeder and the Hoverscout to Walker-Scale. As far as dividing up the Capital Ships, I put the dividing line at the Victory, making it the lower end of the Capital Ship scale, and anything smaller than 900 meters in length is dropped to Escort-Scale, while any Capital Ship over 3,000 meters in length gets bumped up to Dreadnought-Scale. I decided to lump Walkers and Starfighters into the same scale as I felt Walkers were ridiculously underpowered given that they tend to match or exceed Starfighter-Scale vehicles in size.

    With it already being a lot more powerful in hull/shields/weapons, yes.. 3d scale upgrade is more than adequate.

    Well, to each their own.

    I've said it before, more than once, and I'll say it again: Do what you want.

    Just be aware that when you ask for opinions, you're going to get opinions. If you've already made up your mind what you're going to do, either state as such so people don't attempt to provide assistance, or don't ask for opinions in the first place.
