So after a loonnnnnggggg break, we're starting a new campaign with new characters and some new players. It's starting out as an Imperial campaign with a view to defect later on down the road. Any ways, I thought I'd post stuff here for now for those who may be interested. I may start putting stuff on the website like Project Hammer if there is much interest in it and if I can find the motivation. It will be a bit loose in what gets posted (basically stuff I type up for now).
Here's the player primer to set the scene roughly two years before the battle of Yavin

Historical Overview
For a thousand generations, the Republic prospered and developed under the rule of the Senate and the protection of the Jedi Knights. As the Republic became more and more powerful, many of the bureaucrats and Senators that ran the government grew increasingly corrupt. The bureaucracy that had grown over the centuries choked any attempt at real change. Into this mire stepped Senator Palpatine from Naboo, who was soon elected as Supreme Chancellor during a crisis that affected his home world. With his election came a promise to bring order and compassion back to the Republic.
Ten years after the invasion of Naboo, the galaxy was in a state of civil and political unrest. In the midst of this turmoil, a separatist movement was formed under the leadership of the charismatic former Jedi Count Dooku. By promising an alternative to the corruption and greed that was rotting the Republic from within, Dooku was able to persuade thousands of star systems to secede from the Republic. War spread like wild fire across the galaxy and engulfed thousands of star systems in the legendary Clone Wars.
The Clone Wars raged for three long years, tearing the Republic apart and spawning countless tales of heroism, bravery, treachery, and betrayal, as heroes on both sides fought to defend their ideals. As dedicated as the Separatists were in their resolve to create a new order to replace the failing Republic, the Jedi were equally determined to preserve the Republic and their own position in the galaxy. As the war came to a close, the Jedi attempted to overthrow the Supreme Chancellor in a military coup. Narrowly escaping with his life, the Chancellor issued Order 66, which branded the Jedi as traitors of the Republic and called for their immediate execution without question. All across the galaxy, the treacherous Jedi were hunted and executed.
Shortly after issuing Order 66, and during the last war-weary days of the Republic, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine declared a New Order of government to sweep away the injustices and inefficiencies of its predecessor. He promised that the First Galactic Empire, under his rule, would usher in a thousand years of peace. To achieve this, he disbanded the Republic Senate and replaced it with the Imperial Senate. In addition to this, the Emperor installed Imperial Governors, known as Moffs, to oversee sectors as dictated by military and political needs.
The Moffs report directly to Emperor Palpatine and although they might need to negotiate with Senators for political reasons, individual Senators have no authority over them. Imperial governors are responsible for security and have direct control over all Imperial military forces in their territory.
At a planetary level, the vast majority of planets retain their own governments, much as they have for centuries. On some select and troublesome worlds, the Emperor's advisors install planetary governors to bring these planets in line with Imperial edicts. Most of these are non-Human worlds, such as Kashyyyk, and the governors have a virtual free rein to keep these planets under control.
All holdings of the Trade Federation and other major supporters of the Confederacy of Independent Systems were transferred to Imperial control or to Imperial corporate supporters, such as Sienar Fleet Systems, bringing greatly needed materials and resources directly to the Imperial war machine.
Accompanying the growth of the Empire was a huge military build-up to ensure peace and order was restored to the galaxy. The Clone troopers of the Republic became the Stormtroopers of the Empire. The Imperial army absorbed most planetary forces and was reorganised as well as refitted. The former Republic Navy had been ravaged during the course of the Clone Wars and it was quickly rebuilt and expanded to ensure that Imperial presence could be felt at every corner of the galaxy.
Addendum - The Jedi
For most citizens, the Jedi Order did once stand for peace and justice, but the Jedi are now generally regarded as traitors who made a play for power to ensure that their prestige and their way of life was maintained. There are some who even speculate that the Jedi Order actually orchestrated the Clone Wars to give them a pretext to step into power. Despite these widely held views, there are those amongst the older generation who still hold the Jedi in high regard due to personal experiences and fond memories of a bygone era.
