The Mandalorian (S2, spoilers aplenty)

As of today we’ve had three episodes of series 2.

What do you think of it?

I loved the first episode. The Kraut Dragon was excellent, a true monster. And I love every time the Sand People get more screen time, more depth.
Do you think that was Fett at the end? I know some other people have suggested Rex.

I know the second episode had a lot of people complaining about the Child eating the frogwoman’s eggs. I found the spiders more disturbing! When I watch it with my son I’ll be skipping that episode, I think.

I didn’t feel like the third (‘The Heiress’) was short, though people have complained (I really should stay off Twitter. Tired of the negativity). I thought it was great and moved things on nicely. Good to see another group of Mandos in (and Bo from the Clone Wars).

How soon until we actually get Asoka? I don’t think it will happen for a couple of episodes yet.
And how is she going to react? I can’t see her simply taking the Child off Din and that’s it. Will she refuse it?

Neither my wife nor I were disturbed at all over the 2nd episode. Even with The Child eating the eggs didn't bother my wife, and I mentioned the issue some people were having with the episode and she rolled her eyes at the anger over it. The first episode has been the best so far, though #3 was entertaining with the Imperials.

I think an episode "feels" short because the pacing is just right and time flies without people realizing it. I felt this way with a couple of the episodes in the first season.

If I were a betting fool, I would bet Asoka will NOT take The Child. She will suggest where to take it, but will not do it herself. She's "in hiding" and with the nature of that, as evidenced by what the Mandalorian has experienced, that's not something to do while toting around an "infant".

I watched Ep15 last night...
I didn’t like the Mayfeld character the first time round (his personality was good, but other than the Blaster-arm, not much about his look/costume struck me as SW-ish) but liked him a lot better the second time. Gave him more depth too.
And who doesn’t like a fight atop a big vehicle?

I wonder how they’re going to get Grogu back. Somehow sneak about Gideon’s cruiser? Perhaps they won’t succeed, but at the very end of episode 16 a Jedi will appear, having answered the call...but of course we won’t get to see exactly who it is until the third series

With Thrawn's name being dropped a couple of episodes ago, I'm thinking we'll see him at the tail end of 16. This will set him up to take over as the big bad after Gideon's inevitable (and probably very painful) death at Mando's hands. Our mystery Jedi will likely be Ezra, who may or may not have Sabine with him (I've heard rumors for a while that she'd appear this season and with only one episode to go...).

Even if I'm 157% wrong, I'm still looking forward to it. This show, especially this season, has really renewed my love for Star Wars.

I've enjoyed the last couple of episodes moreso than I have most of the others this season. I really liked the first episode of season 2, and then I've liked a couple others, but this last episode was a favorite of mine. They touched on so many things...things to make you think. Mayfeld has turned into a secondary character with a nice bit of depth. Perhaps the making of another "solo-ish" type of character. Hates the bad guys, but isn't really "good" himself unless the right incentive comes along. I also really liked his camaraderie with the Mandalorian. After they blasted everyone, he hands back the helmet to the Mandalorian while not looking at him and says "Here. I never saw your face." Even when it is obvious that he did as he saw the Mandalorian's eyes enough to call him "Brown Eyes". Nor did Mayfeld ever mention it afterwards. It's like the brothers-in-arms code that a secret is a secret among fighting men. I really liked that about his character.
