    Good stories!

    BillyBeanbag is the name of a minor character from my college TV - public access days. We had a recurring segment called the Jank Superhero, and I played Billy Beanbag...

    Since others have graced us with more of the story I will oblige

    Billy Beanbag was a wrestler who developed super-powers, that allowed him to turn himself into a blob-like or Beanbag shape. He learned how to control his powers to the point where he could turn parts of his body into the blob consistency, while keeping other parts solid. He was really good at taking a beating, and his only weakness was getting punctured. Which was how he met his unfortunate demise...

    Anyway, I made an e-mail account with the name, and it has since stuck through several message board ID's and various other on-line incarnations...

    (the funny part is, people get really confused when I tell them my name is Dave)
    May the Force be with you!

    Cordova Bossk is my very first RPG charactor. I just didn't think I'd get so involved in this.

    So-Var Leet is two things:

    1. It's a play on the l337 h4x0r language you see on the net or if you're playing online video games. It comes from $0 \/3ry l337 which means, "So Very Elite".

    2. When I started playing the SW RPG I need to come up with a character name. So I looked through the CR and under the Cerean it says "So Leet". I just added the "Var" and made it sound a little more like the name of a Jedi.

    My Jedi character later went on to turn to the dark side, and his quest was to seek out and kill Luke Skywalker. Unfortuneatly, he met his demise as his ship plowed into the Imperial Palace on Courscant (during the New Republic era), and now his dark side spirit lays dormant in the Palace waiting for the right time to come to life again...

    Default There are some cool stories here guys!!!!

    I have really enjoyed reading most of your reasons, histories and such.

    As for mine, I think most of us probably already know where it comes from, but for those who don't have a clue................
    In Japanese:
    kobai=purchase
    yashi=palm tree
    maru=circle
    Which I always tease it means I AM my own island.

    It is also the name of the troubled frigate that is sending a disteress call in a simulation combat test, of the same name, at Starfleet. Which James T. Kirk is the only member of Starfleet to pass a "no-win" situation. (Which I also tease to go against Kobayashi Maru is a "no-win" situation. ) Plus it is the name of the mission the Enterprise crew used to grab Bones, steal the Enterprise, and return to the planet Genesis.

    It is also the name of my Jedi since we started playing d20 and I thought it would be appropriate for the Holonet.

    Early in High School I started messing around with BBS's and the early Internet (in those 14.4k Modem days), and I wanted something that both implied femininity, fierceness, and being cat-like. So Vixen was born.

    Then one of my friends, who was a huge Issac Asimov reader, started calling me 'Vixen of Venus' which was the title of one of Asimov's short stories that appeared post-humously in the Asimov Magazine that was produced.

    He thought it was funny because the story was entitled that because it was about a woman who was from a space station on Venus and went insane after having her genetics altered by radiation, which increased her sex drive. And the whole plot of the story was her, on a ship going back to earth, and trying to mate with the rest of the crew, and then kill them ... SOUNDS PRETTY STUPID HUH? Well it was, but I liked the name, so I just adopted it and made it my own ... and it kind of lost it's funnyness for the Asimov fan.

    So Vixen of Venus was born ... and that's been my online persona for years, going back to my Freshman year of HS back in 1993-94 (damn, I'm old)

    Not as old as me............oh, wait..................darn it.

    Well, like geek I am, I started a thread like this in C&M, but didn't realize there was already one in here.....anywayz, the origin of FlipDog goes far back...okay, just a year......I was playing Goldeneye and needed a screen name...I couldn't think of one, so I looked around the room. It was then that I noticed my mousepad and an ad for the internet employment company, flipdog. I put it in to the program and added my year of graduation, 2000.......B.C. (Told ya I was old), and it has stuck ever since.
    However, I am working on a background for a Dark Jedi - Slicer known throughout the galaxy only as FlipDog.

    I gotcha beat Vixen. I graduated back in '89. On topic though, My Screen name is just my nickname and is derived from my last name. It also fits like a glove. If you look up the definition in the dictionary, it means wanderer, traveler, or vagabond, I've been all up and down the eastern US, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Detroit, Pittsburgh, even Saudi Arabia (Desert Storm). So I've kind of earned it.

    OK, I confess, Matt Richard is not my real name. Back when I was in school our english class made names out of our middle name, plus the street that we lived on. Even though I have moved several times since then, Matt Richard has always stuck with me.

    My full name is Khairul Hisham Jamalludin. Friends call me Hisham. Just thought for once I'd have my own name as a username.

    My own persona in SWRPG (I GM, see?) is dead and vaporized. Just you folks know, it really hurts when you take an escort frigate and ram it into the command superstucture of a star destroyer...

    That does tend to happen...and hurt. But a more appropriate question...did it take out the SD?

    Hmm...Mine is rather mundane compared to most here...

    Since I am a Techno-Geek, techno had to be in my name somewhere.
    I love The white wolf game Changeling and well me and my friends tend to play a lot of pranks on each other so I took the kith from that book Pooka and there you have ...Technopooka.

    I think the best one I heard was a silly star wars game a friend of mine was running. He had a sith in there named Darth-Tanian. I know that isn't the right spelling but I think you all know where It cam from.

    Then there was Darth Brooks (Garth Brooks) and Darth Sillious. And don't forget the Dark lord of the Bith. I saw that one some where.

    Like a few others, my name here is from a character I play, a Jedi Knight from the Rise of the Empire era, and my first d20 character (and he's still kickin' )

    As for how that name came about ...

    The Donovan part was from a conversation I had with my parents, in which it was mentioned I was almost named Donovan instead of my real first name. I just liked the sound of it at the time, and so I used it.

    Morningfire was the last name of my 1st ever Star Wars PC, a snot-nosed Young Jedi named Ryu Morningfire (I was in the midst of a Street Fighter II craze at the time). Said character was next to nothing on paper, but my dice came alive for the boy. I have many fond gaming memories that involve Ryu, many of which leave the average listener scratching their heads wondering how the frell he survived. So hoping for a bit of that same dumb luck, I once again used the name Morningfire. (Though Ryu and Donovan are of no relation.)

    And Vixen, you ain't that old darlin' At least not when compared to "fossils" like me

    Bwahahaha!! Donovan thinks he's old!!!! :p Children!! :p
    My nick is my old Army nick that was given to me by 2 of my Squadron sergeants. It has a double meaning.. firstly I was the Squadron dummy spit champion and secondly, well.. lets just say I have a passing resemblance to a bear.. or a wookiee
