Fedora? No, that's what the cap is for. This guy isn't supposed to be the absolute cool, just cool enough. (If there is such a thing.)

Olineisfine, these are RCR stats & this is a Saga Edition game. They'll need to be converted to that system.

Raj's Daddy was in the army and his daddy before his daddy and so on so it was assumed that Raj would be a soldier, and so he was, at 19 he made Captain in a private army on his home world which is a place he doesn't discuss much, although it's kind of assumed its an outer rim world. He has a military buzz cut and an everlasting 5 o'clock shadow. He left the army he was in because he was tired of working so hard at figuring out tactics and fighting in conflicts he didnt understand. He saw alot of good men die and he decided to become a bounty hunter because it was easier to kill or capture people by himself and not risk others lives.

Theres a few differences, I'm still partial to RCR edition myself.

Probably the biggest differences is a few less classes - elimination of the: Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Force Adept, Tech Specialist, and Commoner classes.

Remaining are Noble, Scout, Scoundrel, Soldier, and Jedi class.

Here's how some of it works:

Theres:
Character Level
Character feats (every 3rd level)
Class Level
Class Feats (@ every even numbered class level)
Class Talents (@ every odd numbered class level)
Class BAB

In addition to feats, theres now also "Talent Trees" which are specific to every class and is the main reason to multi-class. In other words, you gain a feat 1 level, then a talent on the next. You can take any talent from any tree applicable to that class in any order as long as you meet the prerequisites. They're just a different flavor of feats. Kinda like Stawberry and Chocolate icecream flavors, getting a scoop of each.

- Jedi: Knight & Counselor: replaced with a single Jedi class. The single Jedi class is more broad, encompassing almost all the jedi and sith builds.

- Force adept class: replaced by the Force Sensitivity feat, which grants you almost all the force based talents. You can take this feat as any class to become sensitive in the force and start using force based feats and talents.

- Tech specialist has been eliminated entirely. Its class feats and features have been spread out via talent trees to the different classes. You nolonger have to sacrifice spending levels in the TechSpec class and take a loss on BAB.

Skill point spending is gone sadly (what I really miss). Instead, each class allows for a number of selected feats from a selection, to be marked as "Trained" which recieves a +5 bonus plus half your character level and any modifiers and skill focusing feats. IMHO its more "arcade" feeling, as skills and skill strengths will be more uniform within a group. Two characters with the Use Computer skill and the same Int will likely have the same skill level. Soldiers imho suffer a bit as being regulated to grunts and gunbunnies with only 3 or 4 skills selectable to start with (and can burn skill training feats to pickup more skills later)

Multiclassing does not add more skills to your trained selection, but instead only adds its range of class skills to be allowed when using the Skill Training feats. Only bonus here is elimination of cross-class skill penalties, instead, if you have say Soldier and Scoundrel classes, when you use a Skill Training feat to pickup more skills, you can pick a skill from either class set as a regular trained skill.

Thats about the gist of it... Probably what I still dislike most about the new system is the vehicles and starships rules.

As for your RCR stats, i think it might be easy enough to convert them over with similar skills and feats.

Maybe I'll give it a shot, see how it turns out.

edit: almost forgot: at every 4th char level, you get 2 ability pts to spend on 2 different attributes. say Str +1, then Dex +1. For a level 9 character, thats a +4 bump instead of a +2 bump to your 6 attributes.

Physical Description: Fair skin, mild tan, well groomed, average height. Brown eyes - usually hidden behind dark sunglasses. Brown hair combed back in the latest fashion. Keeps his body fit in good shape. Wears dark jeans or leather pants and a white or grey shirt. Owns a Corellian spacer's leather jacket. Wears a silver necklace and a designer wrist chonometer.

A Brief Background:
Vynce grew up in the suburbs of Tyrena, Corellia's beach front city, bordering within "the Skids". His mother was a waitress at one of the cantinas. His father was a career officer in the Corellian Security Force. Vynce had two brothers, Kell and Rikk. Kell was the oldest by 5 years, Rikk the youngest by 4 years, with Vynce in the middle. Aeirin Summers was killed in the line of duty when Vynce was 5 years old. His brother Rikk was merely a year old whereas Kell was age 10. Their mom had to work double shifts at the cantina just to make their ends meet once company benefits had run out. Kell ended up looking after the three of them while mom would be out working most of the time. Kell began working too, as soon as some employer would hire him illegally under the table which meant leaving school early for menial labor such as dish washing or dock work. Kell wasn't a high average student anyways, with more of a aspiration for swoop racing and mechanics. Vynce would watch with Kell the swoop races every weekend on the their only vidset.

Throughout Vynce's childhood to teenage years, Vynce literally witnessed the transformation of his neighborhood into what would become known as part of The Skids. The general neighborhood declined in overall quality. Riff-raff found its way in; consisting of hoodlums, gangs, drugs and drug users, homeless street people, and prostitution. The good people, those who could afford it moved out of the area. Those who couldn't had to adapt to the changes, much like Vynce's family did. The bustling busy street long bazaar of markets and merchants had also transformed with the territory.

Vynce still managed to attend school with his kid brother. Vynce had some popularity, mostly from the Summers heritage of good looks, as Kell had set the standard for coolness. Girlfriends weren't as much of a problem for Vynce as was having the money to buy the clothes to keep up the 'image' his older brother had set. By Vynce's 15th birthday, Kell already had left home to go swoop racing with his peers. Unfortunately, it proved quite the opposite for Rikk, who ended up getting involved with the wrong peers which led him into joining a gang. Just before Vynce's 16th birthday, terrible news had shocked his family for the second time in their lives. Rikk had been killed in a drive by shooting while at some convenience store by a rival gang.

Rikk's death had strained the family to its limits as Kell left Corellia for swoop races on other planets. Vynce himself had little reason to stay home as relations with is mother thinned over the next two years. Their shared rent of their little apartment simply provided a couple rooms to crash for the night. Vynce found himself trying to juggle school and extra shift work hours. Work usually ranged from dock work at the space port, to bars and tapcafes that lined Tyrena's famed Golden Beaches. The hard dock work put him into great physical shape, while work at the beach provided Vynce a much needed escape and perk to his spirits. The work at the bars had become Vynce's nightlife, with constant exposure to new and returning tourist clientèle's. Vynces good looks, great body, outgoing and personable attitude earned him a few raises as customers loved him. The raises and decent flow of tips allowed Vynce to lighten his work load, be more choosier of which jobs he kept. Vynce's graduation and prom night was also nearing around the corner. He'd need to graduate if he wanted to put in an application to Corellia's Security academy.

After Vynce graduated, he applied to the academy. Vynce's tenure at the academy was a good three years, mentoring under Colt Ishtarru. Colt knew of his father, Aeirin Summers. Vynce asked Colt about his father, a subject Colt was reluctant to discuss, let alone disclose information on. Vynce had known next to nothing, as the details were hush-hush. Colt made a deal with Vynce whom had to agree to keep quiet and refrain from raising red flags until his graduation. Vynce had graduated with honors, and his assignment was to the local police station at Tyrena for street cop position. Vynce grudgingly accepted the duty posting, suspecting Colt and others higher up that knew his father had a hand in it. Three years spent at the academy... To be a street cop!

A month later and slowly settling in, Vynce finally received a visit from Colt. As promised, Colt disclosed what he knew of his fathers death. Apparently, the death was fake, a required official cover story so his father could assume a new identity and go undercover on the case he was involved with. The plan was sound, however, something had seemed to have gone wrong as their was a failure to receive coded contact from Aeirin. He had simply vanished, never to be seen or heard from again. The case was closed a few short years after, labeled as a "cold case." Vynce was on the verge of blowing up when Colt also admitted his hand in Vynce's posting. In a fatherly tone to a like-adopted son, Colt tried to make Vynce understand. It was decided for Vynce's own safety that Vynce best serve the local police force rather than wind up going missing seeking out his dad. A few good fellow agents had already done so.

Five years later at age 26, Vynce was one of the team serving as a Tyrena police officer. No longer a rookie, but a full fledged street cop with a couple hundred arrests and apprehensions under his belt. Tyrena's tourism status as a city noted for its proximity to the Golden Beaches ensured there was no shortage of duty to keep him in top athletic shape. There was enough chasing down perps on foot resisting arrest to run countless laps around the city. Vynce also had begun to build a rapoire with the usual crowd of lowlife down on their luck drunks and working girls. Vynce had a knack for natural charm, coupled with the way he usually handled situations when on his own. A sort of favor for favor deal. On the odd occasion, when accompanied by a partner, he'd sidestep his partner from bringing a working girl in; by getting ahead of his partner and suggestively asking if said person was only asking for directions. To which the driver would meekly nod, and be forced to drive off empty handed.

Sooner or later, the chief found out about it, calling in Vynce to the office. Vynce had a simple counter, to which he replied he had six or more perps ratted out and brought in by each of those girls. The chief still didn't like it any better, and sufficed to give Vynce a stern warning. It didn't change anything for Vynce though. It became as much of a running joke with Vynce's fellow peers as had become the joke of getting called into the chief's office routinely. Walking out with in so much as a warning or light slap on the wrists. Over the next several years, if the chief could've filled a datacard with Vynce's demerits, the office could've filled an entire stack of datacards worth of suspects and perps Vynce brought in; most of which that were put away. Vynce had also climbed up the ladder a few rungs, while acquiring a souped up HoverVette coupe airspeeder. The HoverVette Vynce had really taken to as his own, much of which Colt had figured he would.

There was also the next notable incident, a pair of Jedi, a Master and Padawan actually who had arrived at Corellia. It had turned out they had been investigating and tracking a known gun runner involved with killing a Jedi master and his Padawan. The Padawan was found dead, brutally killed, but the remains of the master (save for his broken lightsaber and shredded traces of his garments) had never been found. The police chief had assigned the Master and Padawan Luxa to Vynce. The assignment had seemingly felt more like a chaufer at times, as the Master took the lead. This chaffed with Vynce at times, sometimes finding out his 'Vette had been borrowed. The trio had managed to track down and apprehend the criminal; which was to be brought back to the Jedi enclave to be tried for his crimes. Vynce's time spent with Luxa was fairly short, despite being in each other's company for little over two weeks. They had gotten along well, even though Luxa's master was always nearby, ruling out any romantic notions. Over the next ten years, Vynce did have the opportunity to meet and work along side Luxa as their organizations shared similar interests.

I'll probably start up the OOC thread first, and that will be any time. I've finally figured out a good name for the game, so look for "Rights of Sentience" for both the OOC and the IC thread.

I plan on a bit of travel to various locations, so we'll have some fun with this one, lol.

Okay, I keep forgetting it's SAGA, so there is more to post on character creation details.

So, last minute changes to things that someone reminded me about in her IM to me:

Force Points, as per set up in the Core Rulebook: 5+ 1/2 character level (unless you have a prestige class that states otherwise).

Destiny Points: 2-3 under the Max, to represent scrapes you've had to get to this point.

Hit Points: Max out. Chances are, you just might need them.

Possessions Jedi vestments, lightsaber (topaz, self-built), shoto (silver-blue, self-built), Star Saber fighter

Physical Description:
Luxa has the typical Zeltron pink skin set off by a mane of burgundy hair and sparkling purple eyes.

Personality:
Even years of Jedi discipline has not robbed Luxa of merriment and teasing ways. She is the "huggy" type, embracing, patting, etc. to express even platonic affection. She also enjoys attention and uses her lightsaber and other athletic skills to show off.

Backstory:
Luxa's family, entertainers on an interstellar cruise line, agreed to schooling at a Jedi enclave when the young girl's antics with the Force became hard for even easygoing Zeltrons to deal with. The enclave was a fine place for Luxa. Although still "wilder" than her schoolmates, Luxa also discovered a quieter passtime for when she was finally tired out from exploring, hiding or generally showing off. She became a reader, flitting about the open part of the enclave's libray from children's tales to hard science to scandalous diaries from ages past--and whatever other topics were shelved between.
When she was older, Luxa became the padawan of Master Joycelyne. The enclave deemed the Corellian woman old, wise & wily enough to deal with adolescent Zeltron proclivities--and maybe even deal well enough to turn those proclivities to paths useful for the Jedi. Master Joycelyne favored missions involving investigation of one sort or another, whether solving some crime or aiding an expedition.
Luxa's forte, however is the lightsaber. As she gained skill with first a single blade and then the 'saber/shoto combo, cadences and sparring exercises became her favored way to show off and attract attention. To this day, Luxa favors her own 2-weapon variant of Ataru that emphasizes--"over-emphasizes to the point of unseemliness," sniff some particularly stuffy lightsaber experts--the most athletic and showy moves.
Even though many of the missions she undertook with Joycelyne did not allow her to indulge in ligfhtsaber combat as much as she might like, Luxa nonetheless was happy to assist her. One of the most memorable of those missions was one of several to Corellia. Joycelyne's familiarity with her native system & its cultures made her the Enclave Council's first choice to handle situations there.
The most memorable was the mystery of a knight/padawan team who had been investigating blasterrunning. The padawan, Shannor Ty, had been found dead by Tyrena police. To the chief's dismay, this meant even more Jedi meddling in "his" territory. Adding to the chief's need for extra shots of Whyren's Reserve, this "meddling grandma" of a Jedi Master brought along a Zeltron apprentice guaranteed to incite discipline issues he''d have to handle--& topped it off by demanding "problem child" Vynce Summers as her liaison, instead of the detective the chief had hand-picked.
While Vynce, Luxa and Joycelyne had arrested Ty's killer, the disappearance of his master, Caiaphas, remains officially unsolved. The condition of his damaged lightsaber and disgarded bits of garments, when they were finally found, suggested he had been murdered as well, even though they did not test positive for any blood or tissues. What Jedi Luxa still finds odd is that no one they talked to had any information on Jedi Caiaphas, at all. The Skids locals had been quite talkative about Ty, providing many leads. Vynce had been surprised that even folk normally closemouthed opened up with details, and suspected the Jedi women had something to do with it--which they had not. When it came to Caiaphas, however, everyone denied ever seeing a second Jedi, or anyone of his description, not even places & times where they knew from reports sent to the enclave that Ty & Caiaphas had been together. Their informants and witnesses recalled Ty but not his teacher. It was as if the knight had never been there. The trio would have liked to pursue Caiaphas' fate further, but wre told by their respective superiors that there were other priorities.
Luxa and Joycelyne worked together several times over the next decade, ranging from an artifact smuggling investigation to providing security for celebrities and politicians touting a vain attempt to revitalize areas like Tyrena/the Skids. Luxa was always glad to be around Vynce, even flirting and teasing, although that was limited with her master's presence.
Recently knighted, it has been close to 2 years since Luxa has worked with Vynce Summers.
