I must say..

After being a member of this site for a few years now, I must say that I've been pleased at how well this site is taken care of.

By that I mean that it's a good site, there are controlled arguments that get handled before things get out of hand, and it's the only site I really turn to for Star Wars.

Well, a good chunk of the credit goes the moderating staff, but another chunk of it goes to the people on this site that provide good examples for others to follow and can express their opinions without having them run roughshod over other people's opinions. So it's a group effort by a lot of people that make this a nice place.

Oh I realize it's a concerted effort, but it is still good to give kudos where they are due.

I hope the site stays the friendly site I've come to enjoy as I prepare to introduce my son to the gaming community here in a few months.

I agree. There is literally nowhere else I would go for RPG discussion, Star Wars or otherwise.

...without having them run roughshod over other people's opinions.

I can't help but feel a pang of guilt at the memory of contributing to the more 'negative' examples of this. I try to do better now, though. If I've ever offended anyone here I apologize, and hope that we can bridge any remaining rifts.

That said, even when attention is drawn to those less dignified moments in the Holonet's history, it pales in comparison to the contentious circumstances of many, many other forums. This is the most professional and welcoming site I've ever found.

I think that's one of the things that keeps me coming back to this board. Granted, other boards keep more current news, but this place has such a good community.

I would say that this site is my replacement of cigarettes. Site goes down and I get fits, cause I can't get my "fix" or can't see if there are new posts in the games, or contribute to the vast ideas or brainstumpers some have and ask for help with.

I think one of the greatest things as well is that even when members do get into heated arguments (which is rare), they're always humble about it and try to apologize or back out gracefully when it becomes too bad. All around, everyone here are friends, and everyone wants everyone else to just enjoy Star Wars and roleplaying to its fullest.
